What ever happened to that project, cause I know I still don't have one in my collection but still feel I need one.

Did a search thru the archive but it doesn't come up with anything, so I thought I would thread it up and see what comes about

Who was working on that and did it ever come to fruition??

Hope the answer is yes and that I can get one

Two were working on replicas. Vash and someone else. Vash made a single one, and the other person never completed theirs as I recall.

It's just one of those projects that never really goes anywhere.

And did you guys see the awesome "bling" on this thing, I couldn't stop staring at it the first time he showed it to me B) .

I can see someone trying to make a working version and slicing their fingers off.

Me too. I've always loved that prop. Looks nice. Are there more pics of this in progress? I seemed to have missed most of it.

Firefoxm31, that is absolutely gorgeous. Superlative work.

I'd also love to have a glaive in my collection. It's not a prop you see too often.

    > Hi all,
The build process all took place on the same night/day, so sorry no start /build pics. I laser cut all the peices from my cads, and assembled them. Started cutting on Sunday evening finishing the cutting about midnight, spent the rest of the morning assembling it to the point you see. This took me till about 9:00am. As of right now, the two halves are taped together while I finalize the blade for it. They have to slide along the track eventually, why not now. I now have a master that does, so it's off to tapering the arms then dropping back in the jig I designed for scribing all the glyphs around the arms.I'm hoping to finish up by this weekend to get to molding the parts for it.
While I won't be offering a kit, a finished, privatly commissioned glaive is very feasable. When it's avialble, this should probably be moved to the Junk Yard.
    Best,
    Will

It's a nicely cut piece, a lot of good detail on it, but it looks awfully thick. How thick are the arms?

    Hi there,
until I taper everything, they do appear thick. But they are fine in reality..

Ok, finally happy with blade master...still gotta buff it out to ensure it looks like a knife blade, then taper the arms down to the thick black line seen, and scribe runes.....then it will be ready to mold.

I remember Propazoid (once the proud owner of the hero Glaive) saying that the runes were simply drawn on in what appeared to be permanent marker.

could be true..I have a Xerox I got a long time ago from a friend of Derek Meddings....it shows the entire Glaive, the runes and all really well...I've decided to raster the runes to make em stand out a bit, also easier to paint :)and they all match...

    little update.

Here at the shop now, I'm done the first half of cutting,. I will still have to smooth it out before adding the runes but i should be able to finish smoothing later on today. doing the cutting of the second half now. It's working out rather well too ..

The thickness looks much better now. I'm curious, what's the inner diameter of your center circle where the diamond fits?

did you buy the one from Ely? how big is this center...i think his glaive (we've discussed this, is too big

It may be a little big, but what was your source for those crystals? Even if it's too large it's modifiable if the crystal is too small.

Judging by your keyboard, your glaive looks to be around 7&1/2 inches wide at it's widest. I know all keyboards are not created equal, but is this right?

    not a bad guess ..
It's actually 8" from tip to tip. I sized it knowing that Ken Marshall is about my size only thinner...lol also froze the film dvd and claculated the size of the center gem

ok one side is now tapered...with these new pics now you can see the thin look illusion of the arms once angled properly. I like the way this is turning out, popped on the jewels for effect :)

Your craftsmanship alone makes me want a prop I didn't know I wanted in the first place. What will you use to simulate the silver metal of the blades? m/m
