I know this has been touched on and even attempted by some members here but the pics & info has long since vanished and I wondered if anybody had one they wanted to part with??

IIRC, there was a theat on knightrideronline, where it was stated that the watch was a toy watch from "Star Wars", now totally impossible to get.

Yep, that's definitely it! The question is... was it ever made and sold WITHOUT the Star Wars artwork on the crystal? :confused

I'm just thinking that if there was a "standard" version produced without the Star Wars license, that might be easier to find, especially for conversion into Michael Knight's 2-way wrist radio. I'm sure a lot of Star Wars fans would be reluctant to part with that watch if they knew you were going to replace the Star Wars crystal to turn it into the Michael Knight watch. ;)

I looked around and found some. Search for "gala radio watch" on google photos and you will find some.

I also found this little info on a forum for Clock nerds
We receive many requests asking to identify Michael Knight's wrist communicator, the radio watch David Hasselhoff used to talk to his four-wheeled partner KITT on the '80s hit drama Knight Rider. The watch, cosmetically enhanced for the show is a Hong Kong made LCD model sold under a variety of brand names (Nelsonic, Gala, Advance, Quasatron, etc.). But this gadget watch is pretty neat in its own right--it has a built-in AM radio. Plug a set of headphones into the hole on the left and tune the dial...we recall this one being a great diversion in our junior high school Algebra class.

"advance" made a radio am watch that was just like the star wars one. All others including the gala don't display the seconds in the right place.

At first it took me a while to figure out what all that orange crap was. I thought it was spray paint or something.

At a closer look, it's the orange foam over the earpieces on the headphones disintegrating! :lol

Uh, you mean like this? This is one of mine...

Yup - one of those, please....
Apparently the Star Wars version is passable as the comm but it isn't the actual watch. Here is a graphic from Nick Nugent - author of the Knight Rider Companion...

The details were changed just as it went to press. Apparently the final prop was a fairly common piece from HK.

Good luck trying to find one. They pop up about once every year or two. The last one on ebay went for over $600.00!!! The one before that went for $900.00!!!

I have a watch also. I made a mold of mine and cast some copies. But the mold is dead. I think there is one complete watch left. I will check.

Yes, I have one complete watch left. It is a cast of the watch with metal pins and the back is removable. There is a working lcd wath inside. The band is a replacment band. The radio knob is not turnable. I also have one solid cast part.
