Klingon Mek'leth!

Hey everyone I just decided to make a Klingon Mek'leth! I just finished my basic template, just need to do some final shaping to finish it before I put it in metal; anyone made/have one?? I'm thinking aluminum or steel, any suggestions??

Yes, from the info I have been able to gather, it is to scale: 23". Mek'leths are approximately half the length of bat'leths:46-48". So I think it just looks big in the pic(it was just a quick web-cam shot)

if you want to go with stell that depends on if you want it to be functional. with heat treating and all. But Aluminum would be good if you are thinking of using it with a costume or whatever.

it looks a little too big,mine's around 18 inches,and after a google searh i found this http://www.aceros-de-hispania.com/b...-stumpf-sword.asp?product=time-seller-pef1703. i hope this helps,i made mine from aluminium and it hangs under my bat'leth.I'm making 5 sets of bat'leth'mek'leth and d'tang knives all full scale ,but the bad weather means i'm unable to work outside,so it may take a while

Steel would be cool the Screen-used ones were aluminum

Thanks everyone for your input!, I think I will make this one out of steel at this size, 23". This one is not going for screen accuracy, just a piece of Klingon weaponry. I would later like to make another that is closer in shape and size to Worf's in FC. Again thanks everyone.
