Has anyone watched this?
I walked in about 30 minutes or so into it when my son was watching it. It looks absolutely amazing. Looks. Granted I didn't know much about what was going on but I think the description on IMDb pretty well sums it up.

I'll admit Final Fantasy has never done much for me. The games or the films.
Again, I've always thought it looked neat, but stories always seemed way to off the wall and confusing or something.
Spirits Within looked great at the time of its release. It wasn't a horrible movie... it was just very flat.
Advent Children.... again, weird and flat.
Kingsglaive... seems to follow suit.

I'l still make an effort to watch it all, if for no other reason to see the parts that make it worth being a CG movie. Everything I've seen up to this point I can't help but wonder why they didn't just make it a live action film. The stand around talking, the drive around talking, they sit around talking. I know there are battle scenes but for the amount of effort they put into the CGI I would expect to see something cooler.

I think this might be the prequel to the game, i know they also did a short animated show on youtube. An amusing thing is that if you preordered from square you get a prequel game that takes place 20 years earlier and it's done in SNES graphics to represent 20 years. Spirits within was a trainwreck, my instructor at the art intitute knew folks worknig on it and they literally rewrote the story and entire game design multiple times while it was already in production. Advent Children makes no sense unless you're a fan of Final Fantasy 7 as it's a sequel to the game. Pretty much how the FF5 anime makes no sense until you play the game and that didn't hit the US until around 1999.

Yeah, Final Fantasy Advent Children was for the people who played through FFVII. If you didn't I can see how the movie would be completely unrelatable to you. But if you did, there was enough fan service and continuity to make it pretty epic for the fans of the game. I actually just picked it up on blu ray yesterday coincidentally.
Kingsglaive is the prequel story to Final Fantasy XV and I pre-ordered that on blu ray.
