Kinda stumped on an idea - prong/holder for arrowhead?

I am kinda stumped on a project I am working on. I had some arrowheads made, and I am trying to figure out a great way to attach them to the arrows.

I thought about making some prongs to hold the arrowheads in place, but the resin would be REALLY thin, and wouldn't hold up well to the weight. I thought about maybe just going the hardware route and bending some metal, but I can't find anything that really looks like it can be a good start for it.

The original idea was to wire wrap the arrowheads, and then use an acrylic rod/tube to hold the screw on the bottom and the wire together.

What I have -

The right sized screw for the arrowhead to screw into the actual arrow
Some 24 gauge brass wire
A can do attitude

What I don't have -
A clue of what I am doing
Any metal thingie to hold the arrowhead in place.

Here is a pretty crude MSPaint of the setup idea that I have. The arrowheads are conical, so pretend this is 3d. The red part is what I am trying to build/make.

Any ideas on what I can use to make the prongs that can stand up to the weight of the gemstone arrowhead? Bonus points if it ends up being something I can buy at the store and modify.

Thanks
Chris

kinda looks like one of those retractable claw things that are attached to a rod, where you press the bottom of it, the claw opens and extends.. Not sure if something like that will work tho

I thought about those, the little handy grabber things for when you drop screws and bolts in the engine while you are working on it.

I don't have a way to keep the tension on the spring though :(

The width of the arrowhead is about 1/2" or so, so it's not very big, just weird.

I might hit wal mart tonight and go through the toy aisle. Maybe something has a grasping arm or claw that I can use...

That would hold it in place great, but it's not quite what I was looking for. I was planning to use some 2 ton epoxy to hold the gem to the little gem holder I build.

The thing that is driving me bonkers is how to build that holder in red. I know I have seen something somewhere that has the prongs in the size/shape I need, but I'll be damned if I can remember where it was....

Check out the Method the Roman Army used to attach the trilobate arrowhead to the shaft of the arrow. These arrowheads were mass produced in "fabricae" and had a precision cone shaped hole in the bottom of the head with a barb molded into it, a tapered shaft was inserted into the base of the arrowhead. You may be able to permanently attach it in this way for strength, then make the cool prongs you are talking about for the effect I hope this will be any help
