Kids Stormtrooper helmet sculpt

Something that I decided to try and tackle several months back is finally nearing completion. Sculpted in clay, then cast in urethane resin. Originally started this project to have a more accurate looking TK armor kit for my 8 yr old son. I decided to make this large enough for him to grow into and managed to get a size that I think works pretty well. This measures 26 3/4" around the forehead, and is approx. 10" tall from chin to the top of the dome. I used several different helmets as reference and came up with my own interpretations based on all of them. It still has a slight wonkiness to it, but I did try to make some areas a tad more symmetrical. Not so much that it looks like the odd looking MR CE helmet though. I still need to add the ear cap screws and mic tips, then it should be ready to go. I have the chest, shoulder, bicep, forearm, and hand armor sculpted so far (pics to come soon). If anyone here is interested, I will be doing a run within the next week or two. Not sure how much this is going to cost total with all the extras (brow trim, neck trim, lenses, mic tips, but I should be able to do this between 100-150 in kit form. I'll also be offering fully assembled and painted versions for small fee, though not sure how much yet. I'm currently looking into have some decals made for it, so if anyone can recommend a place to get those done, that'd be really helpful. Here's the latest pics:

Thanks Jax, are you on my friends list and I did'nt even realize it?
I need to take some more photos of this next to other TK helmets, so far I've only got a couple with it next to an oscs episode III helmet, which is slightly smaller than a MR version. I'll post some more comparison pics tomorrow.

Thanks "that guy".

wow...are these gonna be...y'know...'available'?

That's the plan. This is just the first of more helmets to come. Next helmet will more than likely be full size for us big kids though. This was more or less a practice piece for me, as I've never done any clay sculpting before. These will be rotocast using smooth-cast roto until I decide or find something that works better. I've got a roto-casting machine now, so these will all be turning out pretty consistent as far as thickness goes. Right now I'm in the process of ordering the necessary neck and brow trim. Within the next few days I should have one thats fully painted, with all the trim and lenses and mic tips, so you can get a better idea of what this will look like finished.

I'm not sure, but the tumblehome just doesn't look right... :lol

Seriously, this is AWESOME work.

Amazing work!:eek

Man.... kids are really lucky these days. Back when i was a kid, you made your own crappy SW costume or you bought one of the Ben Cooper ones....

That looks great! (The helmet sculpt, not the Village People thing) Looking forward to seeing the progress.

Thanks for the kudos everyone, it means a lot coming from you guys.

Yep! Won't be hard to find me, just look for red armor:cool

Ah-ha, that's crazy I never made the connection this whole time, sorry man.

Man, you're not kidding. It was'nt until recently that my son realized just how much technology has changed since I was a kid. What do you mean you had to get up every time you wanted to change the channel? What, only three channels? No Xbox? wtf?

After this, maybe I should do an updated version of this costume.

Sometimes no amount of quality or accuracy can save a bad idea.

Here's some updated pics of my TK helmet.
My son in the pics is a little over 50" tall to give you an idea of scale.
I'll be posting a thread in the junkyard with some of the details on the first run.
