Kid Size Proton Pack (Ghostbusters)

I finally get to build something for my son. He decided he wanted to be a ghostbuster for Halloween. A "cheap" costume with a silly inflatable proton pack was $35 and looked just awful. For $3 I found a tan shirt at Walmart on clearance. Some fabric markers made it look right. Next up was the proton pack. I made this mostly from Gatorfoam sign making board and Sintra. The whole costume so far cost less than $30. The pack is probably 65% of true size. I did not completely obsess over details, but most of them will be there. Here is a look at what i have so far.
Enjoy, and thanks for looking.

Here are some finished pics of the costume. Ironic that I work for a graphics shop and had intended to make the warning decals for the pack. A surprise Halloween event came up and I had to finish the pack overnight so all the decals were hand painted on.

His sister went as the ghost.

Enjoy, and thanks for looking.

Looks great, Thats the joy with having kids you can do things like this togethor cant wait for my two boys to get old enough to help me with my projects.

The whole costume looks great, you have one happy son there!

Your story sounds very similar to mine, only my wife went ahead and bought the cheap Halloween Ghostbuster costume from ebay. We decided to go ahead and use the overalls (even my 5 year old son wasn't happy with the GB logo on the left chest area!), but no way was he going to use the inflatable pack, so I made him one from EVA mats and foamies.

My son has a fancy dress school disco tonight and he'll be wearing it there, although I haven't got round to adding the ribbon cable yet.

Wow. Nice job on your pack. I did not add any lights to ours since it was a last minute choice and small budget.
My son was so proud he bragged to everyone he saw that daddy made his costume.

I love it! It lights up! Can you please show us your wiring? I made 2 kid size packs a few years back for my kids but I never could get the lights figured out.
