Go easy on me, this is my first time.

I've always wanted to make some Indiana Jones props , so I started with some paper ones.

I started with basic laser printed sheets. I used an off white color paper.

Then I cut, beat, folded, wrinkled. Then soaked in a coffee bath and baked in the oven.

I also used a lighter here and there and around edges .

For those of you who follow my builds, you know it's a sin for me to have a non weathered prop.

Here are the finished results. I like them. I may do the ID badge over though.

Definitely going to frame the map for sure.

I'm making the diaries from scratch, so that's why I'm doing these. You can get the the files here and have a go at it. Pretty cool, and fun to learn a new technique.

I plan on doing something with the stones.

I know the feeling. I have boxes and boxes, not to mention, boxes.

I can't do any real work or building for now , but I can play with model kits ..

I am getting to my Indy wishlist .

Here are 3 resin kits that are going in the mix. I am happy with these. They're not perfect but I can work with em

They need cleaning and sanding, but I can handle that.

Incase you're wondering why I'm going Indy , its the only prop building I can do at this time due to my accident. Because of paper and painting , I can always put it down when my disks tense me up.

I'm sharing on this post because I can't find an Indy prop page.

I used a patina method on this. First coat is a gray primer from testors. Then I hand painted the rest. There are 4 colors here plus gold leaf paint . Lots of dry brushing and washing.

Been a while so I will post a quick update.

I am finally breaking ground on my office slash new work shop. My car accident took me out of building long enough for my work space to be over run. After a few months of planning and having to change planning because the permit office failed my original design, I went with a draftsman engineer and went with an out building. Kind of like a mother in law suit or pool house. No turning back now !! I have already paid for most of the construction costs and materials. Just waiting on my last drainage plans to be finalized and up she goes. I can't wait to start with progress pics

EDIT public works through a wrench in the works and made me do an Engineered drainage plan. This meant I had to get a survey and then turn it into Engineering. The problem was every survey company was 8 to 10 weeks out and tripled their fees. Ba#$÷=ds

Finally got it all and can now move forward

And finally after waiting for so long. It begins.

They started to form my slab. They left the front side open so they can drive dirt inside. There's alot of building up to do.

Next step is to bring in fill, then has to pass the compaction test. After that they can finish forming and dig in the footers.

It's been really rainy and wet here so they need to wait till Tuesday or Wednesday next week to start with the fill

Technically it's more of a pool house or mother in law apt. Going to be concrete foundation, block walls and completely finished inside with air conditioning. I'm looking into the spray foam insulation to double my storage. I will be able to use my attic as a storage area now because with foam insulation, it will only be a couple of degrees warmer than the room. Without, it will be 125 degrees.

I will post progress photos regularly. Stay tuned.

Wicked nice! How’s your lumber prices down there? My father and I were going to put a garage up here at home.. but the material has tripled, not joking 92 bucks for a sheet of 5/8 plywood.. not fun

Pretty much the same, however I bought my trusses or should say ordered them and paid for them a few months ago. They're 26 weeks out at the time I ordered.

2 loads of fill in place, 2 more coming.

I finally have a schedule now.

Last of the fill coming today and they are spreading and compacting tomorrow
Compaction test is Monday
Forming and footers on Tuesday
Bug treatment Wednesday
Footer inspection Thursday
Then I have to wait for the concrete truck but hopefully Friday or the following Monday.

Big piles just got dropped off. They should be spread out by tomorrow when I get home from work.
