You speak true, my friend.Too bad Hasbro shot their wad with a second reveal (and inaccurate) Vader helmet. I wouldn't mind a reasonably priced (and accurate) Kenobi Vader helmet.
Yeah I hate those Vader Black Series helmets the other ones look good but the Vader ones are just atrocious, I think BS stands for something else for those helmets.Too bad Hasbro shot their wad with a second reveal (and inaccurate) Vader helmet. I think the things that make it OWK-specific are the red eyes that all OWK Vader merch shares, and changing the chin vent to ANH-style. (Which is funny because it seems the final series ended up going a different direction and didn't even keep the red eyes that I assume they were planning on during development, when they provided early reference to toy manufacturers. Besides some very brief moments just hinting at a lens tint, his eyes have remained black throughout the series.)I just noticed this is listed by Hasbro as the Obi Wan Vader helmet, so maybe everyone already new this and I am late to the party.
They are red just cherry red ,on a helmet they will look black most of the time unless direct light hits them, I also ordered cherry red lenses off of Ople props years ago (this was when I was 14 and didn't realised how easy it is to make your own.) they have just been lying there because I found out they weren't accurate for ANH but now Kenobis out I may have some use for them.I think the things that make it OWK-specific are the red eyes that all OWK Vader merch shares, and changing the chin vent to ANH-style. Besides those, AFAIK it's largely the same Vader helmet they already released with an upgraded asymmetrical paint job and a longer neck. 2.0 does look a lot better than the last release.
Still probably not great for accuracy but I think for a "reveal" display it's pretty fun. I plan on getting one to put on some sort of three tiered stand.
They aren't amber with a red tint? That's how the 501st CRL describes both the Rogue One and ANH mask. They are red just cherry red ,on a helmet they will look black most of the time unless direct light hits them, I also ordered cherry red lenses off of Ople props years ago (this was when I was 14 and didn't realised how easy it is to make your own.) they have just been lying there because I found out they weren't accurate for ANH but now Kenobis out I may have some use for them.
Well sure the lenses are tinted and typically not visible in most lighting conditions per usual, but the various toys are clearly not targeting that subtlety, they’re modeled after a very obvious red like throughout much of Rogue One. The early promo images show strong red on all the OWK Vader merch, however the recent helmet prototype shown by Hasbro now features more subdued lenses. Which is what leads me to speculate that all that early promo was based off of now-outdated preproduction reference. Early on they may have been considering matching Rogue One lenses before deciding to go more classic instead.
Oh ok I see what you mean, and yeah that does seem to be Disneys vader, red eyes and ESB armor primarily they even gave the damn ESB funko pops red eyes and the Hot toys one.Well sure the lenses are tinted and typically not visible in most lighting conditions per usual, but the various toys are clearly not targeting that subtlety, they’re modeled after a very obvious red like throughout much of Rogue One. Rouge one is Amber red, now ANH I used to think was cherry red but its not its a kinda brown looking tint (possibly dark amber if some can give the exact color scheme name please feel free.) the reason it appears red is because David Prowse is sweating like a pig under there causing his face to go red and gives of an illusion of red lenses when the light hits them. They aren't amber with a red tint? This was a quick a d dirty photo edit I did the other day. Brightened and saturated it comes across red-ish.Rouge one is Amber red, now ANH I used to think was cherry red but its not its a kinda brown looking tint (possibly dark amber if some can give the exact color scheme name please feel free.) the reason it appears red is because David Prowse is sweating like a pig under there causing his face to go red and gives of an illusion of red lenses when the light hits them.
