K9 Panel Lights?

I downloaded the Allied catalog but could not find the exact buttons and handles I wanted. I also checked places like Digi-Key and NewarkInOne but they didn't have them either. In the end I said 'the heck with it' and just ordered them from RS. :)

I've wanted to build the mutt since I first saw him back in the early 80's on PBS TV but have never got around to it. I'm nearly finished with the fiberglass work on the body and just started fiberglassing the head. I've recently got the itch to play/build robots using PC microcontrollers so this is a good opportunity to blend both interests into one.

I started a quick build to take to dragon Con. I found some cheep lights at All Electronics that will work for this build.

See my progress here:

I realize I took some shortcuts with the under leg detailing but Ionly have a few weeks to complete this project. I want to have it built so my son will have something to operate while I control my R2D2.

All Electronics has 1" square buttons that look like a great match for
the control panel:

at less than $4 each it looks like a great deal.

I got a lot of great comments on the buttons/lights at DC. Money well spent.

Reciently while watching K9 unleashed I saw the lights flashing. I did this with mine using a pic flasher board with just a random pattern. Does anyone know if there is a specific patern they follow. Also do the 2 large red lights actually light up and if so do they flash?
