Justin Bieber in talks for Pokemon

Hmmm... What else should we destroy completely from my childhood?

Ruined due to new movies: Star Wars, Dragon Ball, Bugs Bunny, ect.

On schedule for ruining: Pokemon, anything else hollywood wants to ruin, ect.

How was Dragonball ruined? You didn't actually take that movie seriously enough for it to have an impact, did you?

Charizard was the card I never had, they were like $100 when I was a kid, now you can find ton's of them on eBay for really cheap, LOL.

When it was all the rage and the cards were flying off the shelf (if they even bothered putting them on the shelf) I was working right next to a Toys R Us and I would swing in everyday right after they opened... I would pick up a few dozen packs every time they got a new shipment in for my girlfriends son... I hit the Charizard jackpot in those few weeks, ended up with a bunch of them, I even sent one or two to Nikki Sixx/Donna D'Errico for their children when they mentioned in passing that they didn't have one...

You should add Scooby Doo, Teenage Ninja Turtles , g.i. joe , transformers . I think the list could continue.

Ninja turtles weren't as bad for the first one. Transformers was unforgiveable. I can see it now: they'll get Lady Gaga to be Misty lol. I would get some satisfaction out of seeing Pikachu shock the hell out of him.

I sorta agree with the, meh, who cares sentiment. I'd rather see him starring in a kid/teen movie than being shoe-horned into the new "Alien" project or some other thing that I am interested in to try to pull in a hip teen demographic. I know as a person serious about cinema it's painful to hear about non-actors potentially screwing up projects because of studio money decisions, but it's a Pokemon movie. Admit it, you just don't want to be converted to a Belieber when your son wants to see it :)

Tangent derial- Pokemon was one of the few "fads" I really cashed in on, being a big fan of Anime, Manga, etc, I had heard all the hub-bub about Pokemon and been playing an import copy of the original game on my Gameboy. And I'd seen the power of Baseball cards on American kids, so when the games was released a buddy of mine and I ordered 10 cases of cards we had our order in early enough that we lucked out and received 8 of the boxes even with the shortages. We each made near a grand in profit splitting up those cards and selling the rares to collectible card shops and at comic book shows.

I also earned a mountain of cool uncle cred by sending a packed shoe box of cards to my niece and nephew who became the coolest kids in their school for a year.

I remember back in 1997 pokemon was really just catching on and at art school it was all anyone was talking about. It never did much for me other than give me something to watch when nothing else was on and generic RPG style games to play lol. Now you can find tons of the cards at the flea market as i think outside of japan the fad is dying off.

T__T my childhood!!!!!!! he's not a glove fit for ash. he 'd make more sense being gary...with the fangirls and the annoyingness.

a theater full of screaming fangirls...just what I need.

actually he would be a good fit for Gary. or they could dress him up as Meowth and repeatedly blow him up.

I am one of those Pokemon era people. I'm 23 and have played the game, watched the anime, collected the mechandise for nearly 13 years.

....i fail to see how Beiber can be Ash. It boggles my mind.

This....this is truly upsetting. I'm more upset that they passed on him being the perfect Gary than the fact that he'll ruin Ash.

This movie sounds way too wacky to begin with, what the heck are the pokemon going to look like?

I have a bad feeling they'll be terribly CGI'd bastardizations of themselves like the Transformers and Scooby ended up.
