I purchased the movie through digital download as soon as it became available on midnight. Overall an average effort. I didn't read the comic so I can't make any comparisons there, but the story was too formulaic for my taste and characters were portrayed very two-dimensional. I think my main issue was that this felt very Been-There-Done-That. I know it's an origin reboot but having seen at least a couple versions of how the JLA got together in animation, they could've at least tried to spice things up. Much of the character development focus is on Cyborg and I didn't find it very engaging, just another formulaic father-son tension. GL and Flash had a few funny moments but nothing too memorable.
The movie was 80-90% action which is what we should expect from any JLA animated feature, and fortunately the action scenes didn't feel too repetitive unlike some of WB's earlier JLA efforts. My main gripe with the action scenes was that they didn't try at all to change up the surroundings, even Gotham and Metropolis both looked the same.
IMO Flashpoint Paradox and Doom were better films than this, but still worth adding to your home video collection if you're a JLA fan. I definitely don't regret buying it and will be watching this a few more times.
