So last Sunday I was watching “Cast Away” on TV, and I realized that Wilson is one of my favorite props from any film, well, ever.
I figured it would be a pretty easy prop to make...for someone with any actual skills, which isn’t really me.
I found that there is an “official” Wilson volleyball that was released with a generic Wilson face on it, but the ball has “Cast Away” on it and isn’t quite authentic.
I also had seen that there were some that were made here on RPF years ago, and found that there was maybe even a project run at one point. I looked on Etsy and found some for pretty steep prices.
I told myself I’d snag the next nice one I found in the Junkyard here.
Flash forward an entire 7 days, and I’m starting to use the feature to see “New Posts” here on the forum for really the first time. I hit it...and what the...theres a post in the Junkyard from literally a minute earlier for...WIIIIIIILLLLLLSSSSSOOOOOOONNNNNN!!!!!
I contacted the seller to ask about shipping, it was included in the price, and within moments my 7 day quest to get a Wilson had finally come to an end.
I will be giving Wilson some hair in the form of sticks that I need to pick up in the back yard anyway, and finding some form of (hopefully glass) display case for him.
