Just found Supernatural

I've been ill for a few weeks and in that time through Netflix my wife and I started watching Supernatural. I'm about to start disk 6 from season 1 and wow! This show really got me hooked fast. Where was I when this was on?? Oh yeah, I tend to wait till a show ends up on DVD before watching due to the networks killing shows mid season. Like... Brimstone, Cupid, Firefly.... just to name a few. But man, 5 seasons?? I guess I completely forgot about this one. :confused Love the car, the "gun" and just the overall feel of the show. I like the nods to other ghost or supernatural shows/movies ... My favorite car is a 67 Camaro SS but the Impala is cool as well. :thumbsup This thread is simply for me to say hell ya to a cool show. I don't want to know anything about the upcoming seasons so please do NOT post stuff from them.

Cheers,
Jeff

How random, I started watching it for the first time last week and finished the last disc of season 1 today, must admit I was quite suprised...and did enjoy how it was progressing. I have already ordered seasons 2 and 3 as they're pretty cheap on DVD now...and they certainly make a good watch over dinner. It's good to hear that there are more good thigns to come from this series.

Eye candy! :love :angel

But seriously, I too love the show for it's nods to mainstream superstition. Especially in the first couple seasons. It just keeps getting better and better. Jared and Jensen make very convincing brothers. :)

Two words (well maybe three but technically they are numbers)!! Supernatural Con 2009! Wait and you will see what I mean!!!!!!

Best episode ever!!!! I think we see ourselves in that episode!

I've been with this show since it started. I'm never surprised to hear of new folks that have really gotten into the show but I am always surprised that it didn't catch on sooner. I think it slid under a lot of people's radar for the first few seasons.

Personally, I don't think they've had a bad season yet unlike a show like Lost which 'lost' me for a couple of seasons...

If you're only in season 1, there's lots of great stuff ahead for you.

Easily one of my favorite shows on right now. It's one of the few I really cannot wait to watch once I have it recorded. (I just cannot watch live TV anymore. DVR has spoiled me.)

:eek Just finished season 1 :cry The very end sequence had me jump and just sit in aww. About to start season 2 tomorrow.

I found this show late as well, Just last year, then went out and purchased all the seasons on half.com and LOVE it, it really does just get better from season 1 on. Just a great show. I am at the point now having watched all the seasons at least twice.:rolleyes

I loved season 1 and 2 but after a while the weekly monster stories were getting a little tired. But once they started to get into the larger over arcing story it was 100% better which is saying a lot since it was already a good show.

All of the season finales and season openers are absolutely excellent episodes in my opinion. I'm not going to write any spoilers here so all I can say is that the season 3 finale and season 4 opener in particular were my favorites so far.

There are many hours of fun viewing ahead for you!

I personally like the '80s Hair Band references. ;)

PS- Kim is so in love with the two guys on the show. For real.

I've been hearing good things about this show as well. Jeff, is it on the NetFlix intant queue, or did you have them mail the discs?
Mike

My wife started me on this path, but we both came in late. Jeff and Dean are indeed the "Kings of Banter" and the 70s / 80s references are hilarious!! Started watching the Season 1 discs a few months ago, and we are slowly catching up.

Love the show. Can't believe I didn't give it much thought early on....

Mike, it's mail only. The first two seasons are on DVD but the 3rd and 4th are Blu-Ray for some reason. It only takes two days to arrive i.e. if I mail back say disk 1 on Monday, I will have disk 2 by Wednesday. Not to bad. Would be cool if they had instant queue but more then likely you still would need disk one sent as most TV shows are offered like that.

Cheers,
Jeff

You've got tons of great stuff to come. The "comedy" episodes are all my favorites but man this show does not disappoint.

I only started watching around Christmas time, but I flew through the first 4 seasons and caught up to season 5. Only bad thing now is having to wait a whole week for a new episode!

But I usually watch 1 or 2 episodes every day cause my kids are hooked on it too..

Jeff, what is your favorite episode of season 1?

Not to rain on this love fest, but a while ago the one and only show I've seen was on subject matter which satisfies another of my interests, and honestly, I wasn't impressed. I've "discovered" other shows before, but this one just didn't do it for me.

I caught one episode during it's first season and enjoyed it, but I wasn't a TV watcher, so I forgot about it. Then my wife and I got together and we started doing lots of crafts. We tend to have something on the TV for background when we're working, so I picked up the first season and it's been love ever since. I'd have to say it's been our favorite show for awhile, with maybe House as a close second.

I kind of miss the style of the first season with it's stand alone episodes centering around individual myths/ghost stories, but I still love where the show is at. And it seems that this season they've thrown some of the one-shots back in.

One of our favorite moments and one that never fails to make the wife crack up.
