Just finished: Screenused Style Vac TOS trek phaser

Well I came home from the university for a couple days and decided to whip together the Vac phaser kit I got from Dennis. I used Dave's idea of adding small styrene strips to build up the edges of the vacuform halves. I then glued the whole thing together with out paying much attention to the seams. I also used gpittaras idea of pushing a marble through the bottom of the handle to added the bump at the bottom. I then glued the nozzle on with copious amounts of JBweld. After a quick coat of Semi flat black and masking off the handle, I gave it a good coat of Shadow grey. I then sprayed Krylon bright silver into the cap of the can and used a brush to paint on the silver details. Once I had that the way I wanted, I took 0000 grade steel wool and rubbed the whole thing down as I usually do with my 'screenused' style builds. The black starts showing through on the high areas and makes the whole thing have a nice satin 'used' look to it. I added the greeblies and finished it off. I wanted to make this thing look like Shatner had drop kicked it across a soundstage back in 66 and I think I got the look I was going for. Over all, this was a fun and quick build. It's too bad it will be the last one for awhile.

Sorry for the bad pics, I use natural light and a thunderstorm moved in right when I decided to take some pics.
