Well, Jurassic Park 3 was horrible. I was excited to see dr grant back, but the film just didnt do it for me.
Jurassic Park 1 was amazing. 2 was okay. 3 was horrible. 4????Hopefully better than 2 and 3

JP 4 ... hm I dunno if I should rejoice or cry ... se/prequels tend to suck these days

Why would additional movies in this franchise be expected to be good? Because back in 1993 the first one was so good? The third one was mediocre at best. I mean, I like some of Johnston's films, but honestly, there is ZERO reason to expect that even a halfway decent film will result from this. If anything, all history points to the notion that it will SUCK and won't end up being a new trilogy.
I swear, sometimes I wish I ran Hollywood. I could make so much freakin' money off of people's wishful thinking. You can make an absolute turd of a film and people nowadays will STILL come back for more as long as the first film in the series was great. Doesn't matter if 7 out of 10 films after that were crap, they'll still line up just because of the brand name alone.
This is like those experiments with rats and pigeons hitting a button to get a food pellet. You can string them along forever as long as the first few times around they got some food. Doesn't matter if they haven't gotten anything in ages, they'll keep plugging away in the hope that THIS time it'll be different.

If that's all you want, then I'm sure the movie will give you that.
Me, I want more than just that. But then, I typically do. It's not limited to dino-movies.

Let's hope at least there'll be some proper dinos in this one instead of that godzilla type thing in 3.
I am going to assume that you know that the "godzilla" type thing is a proper dino know as a Spinosaurus, and that you just didn't like it for some other reason.

As with the first JP, where many times the raptors were too big and the T-Rex was too small, some artistic license was taken.
Overall I think they did a good job of presenting a lesser know dinosaur and one that although first discovered in 1910, was very "new" in terms of recent discovers and theories during the time that the movie was being made.
