Jurassic World

Mmm. I remember after the first Jurassic Park came out, I got the flesh colored T-Rex that actually had battle damage you could plop out. That was one of my favorite toys.

Ha! I remember that! That was the juvenile Rex. Good times. I think I played with that one more than any of the others...even the Bull Rex. I also loved the Raptor hand puppet.

Jurassicworld.com updated its Dino list today. So for the first time we get to see Dinos that we've only read about or have seen labeled in vials in the past movies. How many we actually see in the film is a different story, but it's great to see what these creatures finally look like in the Jurassic Park universe.

Instead of going with John Williams' amazing themes and what have you they have gone for some generic sounding crap for Jurassic World:

:facepalm the hell

Yeah that would be awesome news, I need some John William's! Looking forward to the new trailer, probably still a few months away though?..

That music was entirely fanmade :) Michael Giacchino is doing the score for Jurassic World and will be "Incorporating John William's themes".

We have now seen a grand total of about three minutes out of a two-hour (ish) movie. How about reserving judgement until we see more/the whole film?

And before anyone points it out, I'm not being a hypocrite on the basis of my stance on the new Ghostbusters -- that entire project is flawed from inception by being an unnecessary reboot (and even then, I'm still willing to give it a chance...maybe).

What's the point of movie trailers if not to judge whether the film is worth our time and money?

True, but I'd argue that it's one thing to say that based on the trailer(s) a given movie doesn't look appealing to you and another to say that based on the trailer(s) it's going to suck.

Exactly....AND trailers are suppose to entice viewers to see the movie based on an intriguing plot, characters and visuals....so far none of these are intriguing in the least bit.

Maybe my standards for trailers are lower but I've been pretty excited for this fourquel since they first started showing footage. I still stand by my early opinion that this is looking better than JP 2 and 3.

*nods* I see where' y'all are coming from. Having read the first two books, I can point to a lot of things I liked better in those than the films, and vice versa. I can point to things I liked in each of the three films, and things that I didn't -- from minor niggle to downright "OH, COME ON!"... And I guess that's the standpoint from which I'm approaching this film. I don't really need the trailer to know I'm going to see it. I'm pretty sure I'll like parts of it and not like parts of it, and I'm curious to see what that eventual distribution ends up being. I'm not expecting greatness. I'm expecting a fun movie that isn't as execrably bad as Bayformers, and preferably at least a couple notches better than JJ-Trek.

All that trailer needs is for the old T rex to show up and help Chris Pratt and the Raptors...and end with Pratt saying: Trex, you magnificent *******!"

On a side note, someone must make a Burt Macklin film.
