Jurassic World (Post-release)

Also, keep a sharp eye on the book that is sitting on the control room counter. Awesome little easter egg. ;)

i went to see it last night for the first time. i hit the 10:45 show, didn't know it was that long of a movie and almost got out a 1am. haven't been out that late in awhile!! lol anyway! when i went i kept telling the group of friends, look at every counter and table there is a book there and its a easter egg to the first film. i looked and looked, couldn't find the dang book! mind sharing with me what i missed?

JP benefits from its perfect release timing as well. In 1993 no one had seen ANYTHING like that before and it was done so well that it stands up to this day. It's very well crafted and a landmark for visual effects. No sequel could ever capture that moment back.

However I do agree that the dinos in that film were treated better. For instance, Trex didn't continue to persue people after they got away. He went about his business. The only dinos that actively hunted the characters were the raptors and that was part of their "superior intelligence" plot so it made sense.

It also made sure to balance the awe with the terror. That opening dino shot with them seeing the dinos for the first time was truly the stuff of movie legend as much as the Trex getting out was.

My FAVORITE one was when Caire went to Paddock 9 and led the T Rex out using the flare.

besides the
dino goggles
this was my favorite part!
did you noticethat the tr ex is the same tree from the first film! it has the old rapor clawing scars from the battle in the visiting center
thats when the flare REALLY meant something to me

Yeah I can see some of the points they're trying to make but you could pretty much do that with any movie.
The one point I don't get is the whole Claire arch thing about going from powerful business woman to needing to have kids.
I don't think the lesson was you should have kids or your life is garbage. I think the lesson, at least what I got, was love your family and don't put other crap first because you might not get that chance to love them again. Work, work, work isn't good for anyone female or male. Just my 2¢.

I figured it was the same T-rex from the first film when they tied feeding the goat to the flare. That rex learned to associate the flare with food.

The producers even said as much, early on, that it was the same T-Rex that we saw in the first JP.

It's a book called "God Creates Dinosaur" by Ian Malcolm. Complete with his photo on the back. It pops up 3 or 4 times during the movie on the guy with all the toy dinosaurs' desk.

dang it!! i actually looked up a list of easter eggs, and i didnt catch the chaos theory with the blood tripping!! i was looking for the book all over the place, i was placing bets with my girlfriend that it was a book by alan grant or something, i didnt even think of ian, and ian was a cool character too!

thanks for sharing

Picked up this for my son because he loved Jurrasic World so much. Look at the cover. Coincidence?

Saw it with my dad and family for a late Father's day event... Imax 3d. Wow. I did forget it was 3d very quickly, but that's a good thing - sometimes it being in your face is distraction. Sound was riveting.

Also, the trailer really did not do justice to the intelligence of the plot. It made it sound like they just created a smart dino that kills everything it sees. The way the actual movie explained it all took out all of that ridiculousness and gave some sound reasons for its behavior. And the raptors being trained was NOT corny like I thought it was going to be.

Just took my son (7yrs) he had a blast, and I enjoyed it much more than the 2nd/3rd installments. Fun, entertaining film IMO. Chris Pratt can do no wrong at this point.

I'm home from college this week, and was super disappointed to see JW has already been removed from my local theater. My grandparents and I were going to continue the tradition of seeing Jurassic Park films in theaters; however now we can't because I have class beginning next week. I think they may try to come see me back over at my apartment, but it will take some planning because of our schedules. ><

Saw it about a week ago and I have to say, I was very disappointed.

There were several things I didn't like about it:

- The kids were not needed, they were annoying and didn't add anything to the movie.
- The characters were like cardboard cutouts, I had no interest in any of them.
- To many stereotypical characters (the fat security guard, the nerdy computer geek, the amoral military man, etc).

I had high hopes for this movie, but came away unsatisfied.

Yep that might be the big nail in the coffin for me, I need to actually care about the characters, and that means the dinos too.
My wife really felt the main woman character was just a sexist stereotype. And gawd the mother was just endless crying
and the preaching about your just pond scum unless you have kids.
Yeah the fat security guards that were of course totally clueless beyond looking at TV screens was also pretty bad.
Seemed their job was to be predictable bite sized snacks.
My wife also noted about the older kid being literally interested in nothing but sex, "what is he just a giant d***?"
When he first sees a dinosaur we joked that he probably wanted to try to screw it.
I dunno, I'm really out of sync with the general public on this one. Is it nostalgia for JP and all the references
and the appeal of Pratt?
I did care about the raptors but they sort of just became battle fodder with only the one surviving. Just sort of sad.
