JURASSIC WORLD - Claire Dearing Costume Thread

Hi! I've been following the thread and I must says you ladies are AMAZING! Thank you all for the suggestions , tips and eagle eyes! However, I do (rather stupidly!) have a question - what websites do you go to to ID the costume pieces? I would love to help as well, but am a little clueless :( Thank you all again for your amazing, incredible work! I've enjoyed seeing outfits coming together!

The shoes and necklace I found by chance just by Googling articles on the Jurassic World costume for Claire. When I found out the brand of necklace, I Googled that and got to a department store-type website, and was able to search the same brand for the other jewellery within that.

Anything else I've ID'd (both on this thread and on other costume threads such as Arsenal from Arrow) it has been hours of Google Image/Amazon/eBay searching, using different combinations of keywords. Usually I do it when I'm watching a movie or programme on tv so I can multitask, but I'm afraid the slow and painful method is how I do it. Others, like the Helmut Lang blazer, have been identified by someone knowing the style of the product - perhaps if they work in the clothing or retail industry, or are just savvy shoppers! Hope that helps.

I've found most of my stuff by googling descriptions of the items (I.e. White blazer narrow lapels", etc., etc.). Firefly is right though, hours of Google and other searches running all combinations and such.

Hey there! I'm looking to do my first cosplay ever and this thread is incredibly helpful! However, I don't believe the shoes are Sam Edelman. Look at this screen cap... no snakeskin or heel rim

It's there, you can see the outline for it. The copy of the movie floating around the internet isn't true HD and stuff is muddled with the faint blur that's all over the video. But I can clearly make it out in that screencap.

I agree with Jurassic Rex. I don't think the shoes are Sam Edelman either. They do look slightly different. Plus, I believe that they are way too cheap to be the ones worn in the movie. I didn't say anything before because the original ones would probably be too pricey for most of us anyway, and the ones posted in this thread seem like an okay alternative.

Those caps came from the 1080p version. Clear as can be.

Oh I see in the promo pictures... Hmmm.... Maybe she wore several different pairs for different circumstances. Maybe those were "promo" shoes? Either way, definitely a great (affordable) choice for cosplay :)

It's possible but that promo was an official HQ still from the movie, so she was definitely wearing the Sam Edelman's in that scene.

While capping the film to find a better shot of her shoes, I noticed (something I suspected but couldn't tell for sure until now) that she's also wearing stud earrings.

If I had to guess, I'd say they were these by Jennifer Meyer, given the rest of her jewellery. You can't make out a specific shape but the circles seem the most obvious choice (Claire doesn't seem like a hearts kind of lady, and they don't look square to me).

I knew I'd seen a better cap somewhere. This is after the injured ACU guy tells Claire to drive off with the boys in the back of the truck. Back section is clearly visible on both shoes.

I think different shoes were worn for some stunts, though, because close examination has yielded these caps and the shoes look completely different. While I'm convinced that the shoes she's wearing in the helicopter are Sam Edelman's (albeit probably with an added reinforcement on the sole), in the scene around the aviary, they're different shoes.

In the scenes in the lab and outside, it looks as though straps have been added, perhaps to make running in them easier.

I believe the Sam Edelman's were also in the official costume exhibit set up. I have pasted the pics below for reference. She may have worn a few different types of shoes throughout filming (as shown in the other screencaps firefly827347 posted) but the Sam Edelman's are correct. uploadfromtaptalk1434733317099.jpguploadfromtaptalk1434733353990.jpg

The 1080p HD RIP is not true 1080p. It was ripped from a true HD source and encoded to bypass the DRM block. The caps you mentioned still clearly show the outline of patch on the back.

I recently bought the Patent Raffia Stretch Belt from Charming Charlie as a "plan b" for my costume. It's not 100% screen accurate, but it's a nice white stretch belt with the leather detailing and a gold closure so it's more than good enough if you can't find something perfectly accurate. It was only $15, and is actually quite a nice quality for the price and true to size. I picked mine up at an actual store location, but I do believe that it's available on the Charming Charlie website. The UPC number is 3000752072 for anyone who's interested.

I got this belt... It's hard to find anything really close to the original.
