Re: Jurassic Park Props?

Did anyone ever ID the walkie talkies, that canister flash light or things of that nature? I read on another site that the flash light looked like a diving light but could never be matched. Haha I'm just curious in the not-so-famously replicated props from the movie :D

by the way, those look great! I'm especially a fan of Dr. grants fossilized claw, the amber and stuff like that. Great stuff!

Even if you just have something like the Rylo Cryo can, and thats the only prop you have, your JP collection is more worth than my collection...

Doesn't matter, this is not a competition...

Or is it?!?

Besides: You can't beat a man, who owns a puppet of himself... :lol

Re: Jurassic Park Props?

Is there more than one regular source for the resonating chamber?

Re: Jurassic Park Props?

I have my chamber from a seller in france, but it's just white resin, never had the time to add some colour to make it more acurate...

Don't know if the seller is still arounf, but pops up in ebay from time to time...

Re: Jurassic Park Props?

A year or so back, I was visiting Los Angeles (I live near London) and was luck enough to score a more or less unescorted ramble round the Universal backlot. We did mainly the route taken by the tourist buses, but alighting frequently from our super-cool golf buggy to more closely investigate things like the crashed 747 from War of the Worlds. Anyone who's been on the Universal tour will know it. Anyway, pick your way carefully past the bits of airliner, which are now looking more than a bit sun-bleached and weathered, and you'll find nothing other than the abandoned science lab set from one of the Jurassic Park sequels (2 or 3, I can't remember but someone here probably will). It sits on a bluff just to the south of the plane wreck, looking even more wrecked than it did in the movie. I suspect it may have been deliberately pulled apart a bit more for War of the Worlds, as it is somewhat visible from the plane location and those cantilevered metal grid layers on the outside are, or rather were, pretty distinctive.

As with all these things it wasn't really built to last, and the concrete effect skim is falling off the plywood in chunks. This is particularly unnerving when crossing the little bridge over the "moat", which still looks roughly like concrete but which has an alarming bounce and sag in it which speaks of exposure to more than a few years of local weather.

Anyway, it is still largely there, complete with reception desk and shadow of the InGen logo. There isn't really much of an interior to it - if I remember rightly these was much more to it in the film which was presumably a set down on one of the few stages that haven't been turned into theme park rides yet. Between the weather and the ever changing needs of a backlot I suspect it will be gone sooner rather than later, but last time I looked it was there and visible on Google maps - look for the round tower and the two square patches of water either side of the bridge.
