So, this has been on my "to do" list ever since I got into this hobby. Today, I finally decided to pull the trigger and make it. I used polymer clay for the sculpt.
Here is the rough sculpt, above the reference drawing I made. The claw measures about 6" in length.
Fresh out of the over.
After sanding the edges and carving out the recessed area.
Close up on the detail in the recessed section.
And finally, A finished shot of the claw. I'm pretty happy with how this turned out.
I'm also considering making resin copies of this (raw AND finished).
