I've long wanted a predator costume. And for this years The Labyrinth of Jareth Masquerade Ball I resolved to make one.I've spent the last few months gathering supplies. Now I've begun to create. My dummy is made and stuffed, the base muscle suit costume it mounted,so its on to laytexing it. start front.jpg start back.jpg mid front.jpg mid back.jpg end front.jpg end back.jpg mounted.jpg stuffed.jpg base costume.jpg

I thought i would finish my suit with in 1 to 2 months im a year in!

my confidence in my deadline partially comes from watching, The Jim Henson Creature Shop Challenge. such awesome builds done in 2-3 days each. just mind blowing.

i added flip flops under the bottom board for traction, so i gain between 5 and 6 inches of height in these (i'm 5' 6" so i'm learning to walk again lol and yes the weather is nicer up there). the last couple nights i've taken my roommates dog for a walk wearing these. to get used to them and stress test them so any repairs / changes could be made.

i may begin latex covering them tonight. and my sewing connection is coming over tomorrow to install my zipper in my base suit.
so things are moving forward. just need to get some rice to fill my gloves and work will begin on those as well.

Nice i actually did the same for the bottom i added flip flops.

just a heads up when i filled the gloves with rice to hold its shape i found that the latex actually went through the gloves and stuck to the rice so it took a little bit of time to clean out the glove but otherwise it wasnt too bad!

ok, lots of progress made. got a heavy duty zipper installed and reinforced. added a foamy strip to the soles of my feet to get a smooth look. started latexing the feet. baked up and attached my bake and bend claws. a nice material very easy to work with and bendy enough that i'm not afraid of them ripping off if i bump something.

NIce build dude. I am currently working on my own First build. I never really thought of using spray foam to make the feet. I might have to try that.
