Finished these for a client today, the eyes are temporary just for photos, the owner is adding his own eyes and eyelashes to them.. I know Luke's are blue, I just didn't have any temp blue eyes to stick in there. I hope I did JRX justice on these.
I still have the Obi Wan to finish.

Steve they look great :thumbsup
But why do you always use flash when taking photos?
Go outside and take the pictures, not in the sun though, can be too much shadows.
I would have waited a day or two for the real eyes, they ruin your paintjob.

Wow, those look great... although I agree with Lord of the Props, that the camera flash is washing-out the colour a lil' bit... should look better in natural daylight :)

Now *that* is commitment.?.I'd have though glass eyes would have been fine... but HIS OWN EYES AND EYELASHES?.?. :lol

Hehehe... j/k of course ;) Now let's see Old Ben.

Cheers,
John

Well Bjorn, because my camera has an automatic flash, I cannot turn it off. I don't think having the wrong eyes ruin the paint job one bit. I only wanted to show off the finished skin tones as I won't have the correct eyes to take fully finished shots. I'm not trying to be a professional photographer, just trying to show how the busts turned out , that's all.

Hehehe.... I once had a Fuji digital camera which didn't have the option of turning off the flash...

So I experimented with placing one of my fingers over the flash-bulb area when taking pics... roughly 3/4 covered seemed to give the best results. If I covered it too much it made the pic look grainy.

Low tech solution to a high tech problem ;)

Cheers,
John

Steve, great work man :thumbsup . Your painting skills have improved ten-fold since you started.

I do have some photography tips for you. There are a couple of solutions to help with your flash problem. One is using more indirect lights, no flash and a tripod. Turn on as many lights in the surrounding area, set the camera on the tripod and either use a remote trigger or the camera timer to get rid of shake. Another, much cheaper solution is to take a piece of regular printr paper and fold it in half. Hold it front of the flash when you take the pic and it will act as a diffuser. You can fold it more or less until you are happy with the results.

Hope one of those help.

Steve, take them outside in daylight. In the last picture they became way to red in the skin, becuase of the light in the room. I am not trying to bug you on this, I am just trying to help you out, as you did a great paintjob, and it´s hard to see in that light.

Try at least my friend ;)

I'll try to get them outdoors this week and get some better pics. I took video of them with my digital camera and they looked like they did in person but I don't know how to post a video here. Look for them later this week.

Heeeeyyyy - :) ... these guys look mighty fine - :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup

Can't wait to see "non-flash" pics taken in sunlight and with the correct blue
eyes in the Luke head - :) - great skintones ...
I love the beardshade on Han - :D ... I actually just simply "forgot" to add that
on my own painted Han head - :lol :lol :lol

... will you add "eyelashes" also ??? They add a lot to the look of the eyes - ;)

... no critics - only a suggestion, but maybe you should "fade out" the
eyebrows on Han a bit more, so they don't appear that "broad" - :$

I'm looking forward to your painted Version of Ben - :) :) :)

The owner is adding the eyelashes after he adds the eyes.. I'm not sure if I'll get pics of them fully done, so I only had these to work with. Thanks for the compliments.
Steve

Me too. I hope the owner takes some good photos of them after he puts the eyes in and eyelashes. I'd love to have some completed photos for my portfolio.
