Johnny Depp Pirate

It was even cooler when I read it somewhere other than the RPF.

Why do people feel the need to post internet news that the folks here are bound to see elsewhere anyway?

Is the RPF a news service?

Should it have a forum for just links to other News sites.

I'm sick to death of opening threads like this. Better titles folks.

Deaths I can understand. For some people, posting an RIP to a forum is their tribute.
And in fairness to the OP, this thread was the first place I heard this piece of news.

Re: Johnny Depp Pirate - warning micdavis

Well that went well... sorry to waste everybody's time. micdavis I think you should lightn up a bit. You spent more time posting a reply than just hitting the back button....

Feel free to delete, I just thought it was cool sorry.

I don't mind at all that you posted this here. Don't let the negative comments get to you, after all some people never seem happy unless they are trying to bring others down. Pretty sad, I know...but I guess in a twisted sort of way it is the only thing that seems to bring them any joy. Just saying. Besides, not all of us have all the time in the world to watch the news, yet alone surf various sites looking for news and balance work/family time.

Why do people feel the need to be complete douches for no reason other than to bring someone else down? Very poor form Micdavis.

Why do people feel the need to post news stories here that are DAYS if not weeks old?

You're really butt hurt over this aren't you?

Perhaps you should contact the Forum Police and lodge a formal complaint. Who cares if he posted something days or weeks old? As you can see from several of the other posts in this thread, some here had not seen this info and welcomed it.

Do you use the search function every single time before you make a post? I highly doubt it.

Quit being douchey.

Just sick to death of wasting my time on **** that is poorly defined in the titles. Too many of them lately.

Had the title been "Johnny Depp visits Classroom" I would have known to ignore it.

"Butt hurt" what are you 13 years old?

And by ragging on my post doesn't that make YOU the forum Police too? Don't like my post ignore it. That's what everyone tells me when I ***** about a thread or post.

I also would never post a "news" item period, and if I did, I would search for it.

When the OT forum was created it was supposed be related items to props. Now it's some weird cross between and a psychiatrist's office, and Ain't it Cool News.

That's fair and completely understandable. But, you've already wasted more time in this thread than if you'd just read it and moved on without attacking people. You're kind of contradicting your own mantra....no?

This is a community dedicated to the collecting and building of props, costumes, dolls, figurines, toys and all kinds of other related items. I'd say that makes us all right around the age of 13. :lol

I'll tell you what: when you start following that advice, I will too. :thumbsup

That's fair, too. But here's the kicker: that's how YOU do things. YOU have every right to do things YOUR way. But, expecting other people to do things YOUR way and then getting upset at them when they don't is where you fail.
We're not Micdavis robots here; we're all different and we all approach things differently.

Here's a suggestion: let people do things their way, regardless of whether it jives with the Micdavis Way or not. Accept that we are all different and all have our own way of doing things. Everyone will benefit from the simple understanding and acceptance of this concept. :thumbsup

Cheers.

Mic,

I am with you on making titles more clear, but I am in total disagreement with you regarding the reposting of news info.

While the "news" and information posted here on the RPF is often something I have seen elsewhere, there are many many times where I see it here first because the RPF is where I tend to go first, and I don't always go to sites that would have a particular story. The person who seems to be our No 1 news aggregater is alienscollection.com, Willie. Most of his posts are reposts of information from other sites, but for me at least, Willie provides an valuable service for the site, because a lot of the stuff he posts, I would never see if he didn't post it. Reposting and passing information on is an integral part of the way social media and the internet itself works.

Not that you need any positive reinforcement...right on Art! Oh, and for everyone else,
