Done / Completed John Wick Coins - Round 9 - coins ordered 1/2022

Re: John Wick - Round 2 - Interest thread

Thank you Pinder91. They're not in the office over the weekend, so this will have to wait till Monday.

Re: John Wick - Round 2 - Interest thread

No worries. Just trying to help while I still can. :)

Thank you for counting the beads around the edge. I would not have thought of that.

Do you mean the shield appears tilted off of it's axis ?

There's no point in making the EX UNITAE VIRES the size of your middle coin. It has to be like the concept art on the left coin.
That being said, it's still too large.

Re: John Wick - Round 2 - Interest thread

i've played around with some 3d programs ...usually for 3d printing....and the weird thing is trying to get a good topside render of the object being created.
sometimes you can't see a lot of the detail until you flip and rotate the object and the light source shows you the depth in layers.

i wonder if the coin guys could send you an stl file the same way you sent one to them?!?!?!

then you could toss it in your program and get a better look jintosh.
just an idea.

Those are the anal retentive details that keep me awake at night. I count stitches on clothing. :LOL

The shield definitely looks slightly tilted, but the rays on it are also different from side to side when they really appear to be symmetric. Also the center circle (sun?) is slightly large.

I totally agree with hitting the concept art coins as our target as that is most likely the final art before the coins were printed (I could be wrong, but the screen used coins show too many signs of being printed). I usually always side on the side of "idealized" vs matching screen used. Parts get skewed, warping happens.

I'm a 3D guy myself, so if I could help with anything just let me know.

I'm glad you spoke up. Really. Since some of those things are wrong when compared to my original sculpt, it'll be easier to say they're not done right when I email them.

Ultraman and I were partners on the first run. I made the design and gave him an original coin and he made cast copies of the coin.
The first run was limited to 100 coins.

This time around, the coin will be made by a challenge coin company and professionally gold plated. This second run is limited to 150 coins.

But there is enough interest that after this second run, there will be a third run. The third run will be the same coin as the second run, but will not start till after the second run is completely run and mailed out.
