JFcustom's FOAM files

You can do some calculations to change the scale to your height (try not to change the scale of individual parts if possible, the proportions of the suit overall might be off if you do).

Since people are sharing their progress here, why I wouldn't join the party? So far I have completed one full leg (shin, thigh, boot) plus other boot, full arm (shoulder, bicep, forearm, handplate) and cod (not pictured). Having in mind that this is my first foam (also prop in general) build, I'm happy with results. At first, after coming back from printing house with leg templates I looked at them and they seemed too big. But after assembling the fit just fine, only a bit too large. Same with cod. Fitness mat foam works really well, at start I used some industrial black EVA foam (i made my boots from this) and despite being thinner, it was stiff and waaaay to expensive.

For junctures I used simple system of 20mm screw, washer, second washer and nut. Great alternative for chicago screw, which I couldn't find anywhere, same for this piece that JF is using.

I have a couple of questions.

1. I'm going to do abs and back now. Cod's and ab's default scale is the same, so I'll just copy the same scale I used in cod. But moving onto back, initial scale is different. Should I manipulate scale till spine parts match?
2. Let's say I'm done with these above, chest and brace on the way. Again, brace and chest have same scale values. Will it be okay if I adjust the scale, so the lenght of edges, where back and chest connect will be even?
3. Has anyone tried Stealth's method of foam sealing on these fitness mats. I mean coating them with diluted PVA glue, priming and painting. I'm asking cause I cannot get hold of Plasti Dip and Sikafill or whatever is this thing called.

Actually there's no question to ask here : print a set of the five lower vertebras scaled the same as your abs/cod, and print a set of the four upper vertebras scaled the same as your back/chest. ;)

Keep the same scale for back/chest/brace/collarplates. If you get a slight mismatch somewhere, trim the foam with your blade.

I tried once. The result looks just like the other builds over here, but probably because of a cheap glue it didn't stick well on the foam and couldn't stand being bent. Some day I'll try with a better glue.

Doubleface, what country are you in? Might be able to give you some better options if we know this.

Poland. And while we're at it, how many 400ml cans are used for a single suit?

Thanks, now I'm more confident about using this method if I'll find other ones too expensive.

Hey everyone! Long time, first time, blah blah...

Have been an admirer of JF's works for quite some time and thought I'd share my builds.

Aside from a few nick-picks, I'm pretty happy how they've turned out. Now just have to decide how to fill gaps, remove some glue, seal and paint.

Thanks JF! Keep 'em coming!

Nice and clean :) It makes me think I don't even have built my own batcowl yet... I need one !

Updates on JTM's Iron Man mark7, I'll share my unfolds once I'm done with it. Why not now ? Because I'm still improving these files here and there to make them easier and more accurate.
