Jedi Holocron [With a Luxeon V!)

I had recently made a custom Jedi Holocron for myself, the brightness was great with a Gentle Giant Pumpkin Bomb light, but the Luxeon V I installed really does the trick this time:thumbsup

Lets just say the heatsink gets pretty damn hot after awhile. It generates 5 Watts of power and has a whole bunch of add-ons to make sure it will last the 10,000 rated hours this LED is supposed to hold up for.

Oh yeah, and the level of brightness here is that of the quantity to light up a whole room, and of course blind you in you take off the case of the holocron.

[The below pic was taken during the day haha]

Awesome. Is it a white LED?

The P4 white is really bright as well and requires the same power as a Lux 3.

I always thought these custom holocrons were so cool. Too bad I know almost nothing about the EU and what these things are for :lol:lol:lol:lol

Something about Jedi knowledge I think....

Or Sith knowledge if it's a Sith Holocron.

Kinda like a flash drive maybe?

At any rate you did a very good job on it sir.

Thanks everyone! The LED is a Luxeon V white wired to a 9 Volt 800mA adapter, it had to be just right so it won't fry the LED, which has a peak operating temperature of 250 Fahrenheit

It's great to see such a piece, these holocrons are rare and yours is masterpiece!!! I bet it makes some cool shadows at night.

Awesome construction. From what I've read, all holocrons "teach" future Jedi and if made correctly (Jedi holocrons), will only bestow complicated knowledge only if the Jedi is ready for the next step in training. If a Sith Holocron, then it gives all knowledge freely, if you can delve in and find the hidden secrets or traps.

That is one cool Holocron, I've only just joined but I've been doing something similar but not got to the advanced stage of electronics yet. Here's my Sith Holocron that I'm in the process of finishing.

Very cool! How'd you make it?
Thanks for the compliments but I'm still a learner cmpared to some of the guys on here. I started off with four triangular sheets of Plasticard and stuck on the pattern over the top.

Once they were all complete, i stuck them together to make a pyramid. Then I primed it with Gray primer.

Now all I have left to do is the peak at the top and a coat of satin varnish.
