Jbot decal problems

Has anyone else had major issues with ordering from Jim at Jbot?
After over a year from placing an order, I finally received them, (about 8 months after I paid and after the first set "were sent weeks ago" never showed). Well he had forgotten to clear coat them before shipping and they were all scratched and banged up. Now many of them were for my 44" Eagle and so they didn't need to be perfect, but the 1/72 moonraker decals were bad. Firstly I get a ****ty email telling me to blame to post office, I replied with pictures showing that it was he who was to blame. So he says ship them back, I assumed to replace. I do, he gets them and refunds me! Well I don't want the refund, I need the decals! Infact if I knew he was going to do this I would have just kept the damaged ones. I almost insisted on him shipping me replacements before I sent back the damaged one, but I've been the calm and waiting one on these. Of course I can't file any complaints as he refunded me, but what sort of businessman does that instead of filling an order. It was his mistake, man up :)

I too, am waiting for an order. I placed it in early january and they should have been sent out weeks ago.

I hope that the company sees the thread and uses it as an opportunity to address the issue and amend the situation.

This is nothing new had the same problem over a year ago my self ,that why i use JT graphics now.

I sent Jim some orders/emails and it took several months for him to reply....to be fair, there was a notice on his website that he was way behind and the shopping cart was unavailable, so no money changed hands at that point.

When he did reply, I Paypal'd him the money and received my decals just a few days later.

Yeh I had the same thing, so I waited until he told me to send payment. I did, but received nothing at first. Once I did get them they were bad, but instead of a 'sorry' I got a 'blame someone else I sent your decals'

At one time he actually stated on his site he was catching up on orders. I emailed him and asked him to put me on the "please" waiting list for AMT MF decals. He emailed me when they were available, and took good care of me. Again, I had "no to low" expectations for a timely turnaround and he surprised me with a fast ship.

Go with JT Graphics.. :thumbsup

Afraid " the dog at my homework " has been
his song he sings for SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
many years I don't see how he still gets Business ? :rolleyes

Same, had major issues, there has been a lot of threads on this in the past. Funny thing too, he had yet again turned over a new leaf as of about a year ago, same dog, some old tricks. Makes me wonder when the apology for getting attacked for "attacking" him when I simply stated my previous issues is coming. Don't think I'll hold my breath, and I wouldn't either for the other decals or to get your issue resolved. Some times, you have to just call a deal a bust and walk away.

Anyhow, I saw on the RI that Sean Sides just finished a MoonRaker and I think he said he had some decals he didn't use for sale . . . might want to drop him a line.

I understand how it is when people get bogged down with work and have a lot of trouble meeting deadlines. I find myself in that position a lot, and I am currently behind on quite a few projects. Nevertheless.....

Over a year ago I had asked him to produce some prototype decals I was needing for a Round 2 build (yeah THAT big project.). He had made some tests to determine the right "grade" etc, and they worked out well. I was still working on the artwork but I told him I'd need the "real ones" without fail. Later I sent him the finished art work saying I'd need them for sure at such-and-such a date, in a couple of months or so.. I asked "can you do them by then for sure? I have a deadline." He assured me there'd be no problem.

Anyway, a week or so before the deadline I asked how it was going. No answer. I emailed and phoned a dozen times. The deadline came and went and nothing. No answeres to any messages. No decals had arrived. I was in a real bind! I had to have JT do an emergency run (without prototyping) and have him courier them ASAP (at great expense) so I could barely get the job done in time. I was scrambling, and because I didn't have the time for prototypes, the tones were not what I wanted (a bit too dark for what I needed). Not JT's fault as we didn't give him any time for testing. It was a real smash-and-grab job by then. I got the project done, but just barely.

A few months later, Jbot sends me an email as if nothing happened. No references to the past job, nothing. I can't say he ever over charged me, in fact he apologised in past cases and sent me free decals when things maybe didn't work as planned. However, I'm afraid I just can't count on him anymore. Jim is a very nice fellow, soft spoken gentleman and I'm sure his heart is in the right place and means no malice toward anyone. But I think he may be having personal problems beyond his control that keeps him from doing the decal work efficiently or reliably. I nevertheless wish him well, and hope all of you here do too.

JT now has all the art work pertaining to all my kits, past and present. I no longer offer decals with my kits, but anyone who wants them may be able to get them from JT. I don't know what he'll do with my art as the "ball is in his court" now, but he has my permission (now ratified here publicly) to sell them directly to whoever he wants.

Good luck!

I once recieved a set of Eagle decals that weren't sealed either (found out when the graphic drifted away calmly in the water and dispersed). Got a snarky response when I brought it up. I wasn't impressed. Everyone else who sells aftermarket decals shoots a clearcoat. Everyone. I wouldve been just fine if there was abigg note "danger, no clear-cote", instead of a snide response.

i got MF decals a year ago..... for free, I emailed him with great reservations because of his reputation, but he sent them. I couldnt believe it

FYI, I ordered some Jbot decals early in the new year and they just arrived today.

THEY LOOK GREAT!!!

(now I just have to get good at using decals)

REALLY? You just read a thread about how horrible and unreliable he is, and you're gonna "go for it"?

Man, why am I not taking advantage of all the suckers with money to lend on the RPF?
