JB Props - BUYER BEWARE

Note* This thread is for other people, I am not owed any goods by JB.

The mods can move this if it is the wrong place but I know the old JB thread from 2 years or so back was put here.

I think people should know this if they don't. A thread that started on the Prop Den in July gave JB time to deliver goods, it started off positive where JB came in and had his say but then he disappeared. I had several PM's stating that people had waited over 1 year for their products with many others left hanging on. The majority paid in full and forwarded me their transactions to be sure that everything was legit.

Anyway as a result of failing to deliver in a timely fashion we issued him with a ban today after having many chances.
The Prop Den also issues a BUYER BEWARE against anyone dealing with him directly and I know Jez updated his website (or is in the process) to clarify the buyer beware against him.

Approximately 8-9 people posted in this thread with outstanding orders from a long time ago but I have another 6 PM's in private to add to that. All of them are saying the same thing. Although JB now states he has health issues, no proof of that was given and frankly the members did not believe him.

I know JB products are popular and I know some people that have had good dealings with him but there is no doubt his business ethics are disgraceful and I feel sorry for these people, so if these steps help them to get their helmets that would be good.

We should start asking for doctor's notes from now on.

This is what I have learned about prop making (when making a large run):

- It will make the prop maker very very ill for many weeks or months.
- It will cause death to a loved one.
- It will cause your one and only computer to crash.
- It will cause your internet to crap out on you.
- It will sometimes cause you to fake your own death.

So if you plan to make a large run of props - please just walk away from the hazards now. :lol

:lol That list is for our amature makers! :lol

Very true indeed :lol
On a serious note i hope you and the rest of the people waiting eventually receive what's owed Paul.
I know JB makes some great Vader helmets but that shouldn't give him a free pass to leave people hanging on for a year or more after they have paid for product.
Unfortunately that seems to be another truth ive noticed in this game, aslong as your product is good people will be less bothered by poor service and slow deliveries.

Thanks Gary but I'm not waiting on anything. I bought a V2 over 2 years back. This thread is for other people that came to me with their frustration, I'm not trying to be a martyr but I thought it would help, cheers.:thumbsup

This is really an unfortunate thing. I hate to post here publicly but I have given up hope. I am sorry to post here JB but I just don't feel that I was treated right as a person and as a customer. I am a patient person and have been nice and waited for my armor. If I ever receive the armor I ordered I will post again that I received it. I am speaking out here because I don't want someone else to suffer the same fate as I did. I paid close to $700 for that set of painted armor. I have checked my doorstep for the armor to arrive for over 2 years. That is correct. I ordered and paid for a set of armor from JB in Dec. '06. I was told many times that it was ready to ship.
I urge others to heed the warnings here. Again, JB, I am sorry about this but I have just given up. Thanks to everyone for listening and thanks to those who tried to resolve this matter for all of us who are owed items.

2 years?! $700.00?! :eek:eek:eek
I swear, you guys have the patience of a saint!
If the person I'm making a purchase from who says they have something in hand, I had BETTER have the product or an update in two weeks! And I shouldn't have to go looking for one! If my product isn't in my hand within 30 days of my paying for it, I take all the necessary steps immediately. When it comes to my money, I don't play! :angry

I'm not surprised at all. The guy's in my top 3 on my personal Do Not Trust list. I tried to warn the RPF mods about JB as far back as 2005, but my lengthy note citing many specifics and backed with proof was met basically by the sound of crickets. Best of luck to you all.

Well at times I think the RPF has kept his membership so people could get their products, thinking a Ban would not solve the issue, as that has sometimes worked. I wouldn't like to go into the recaster aspect although we know what happened. We gave JB many chances ourselves also to deliver the outstanding orders but after 7mths it proved too much. As for not trusting him, I think there is a massive queue that's formed around the block for many years now, your just very close to the front of it.

I agree with this actually. In one instance where I was taken for some money, along with others, the offender was banned and all communication ceased immediately.
Emails since have gone unanswered, though prior to the ban there was about a weekly update. Even if we were hearing lies every week, people were getting money back and there was communication. Ubfortunately, this person suffered a loss of work, lost a family member or two and may have had a litter of Ferrets, I can't remember.

I blame the ferrets; Those babies eat something like triple their weight in props - DAILY!

<shrug> what can you do?

Thanks for posting the warning!

Yep, JB is a bad dude. Everything he's ever done on the RPF has been shady. He's to be avoided at all costs. Sorry to hear he's hurt more of our own here. :(
