Jawa speaking in English in Star Wars!

I don't know if anyone else has noticed this but when the chief Jawa is showing Owen all the robots for sale he goes past the robot which looks like a swiss army knife. Pointing at the robot the Jawa says: "That one there...ha-ha-ha... very long ears!"
Now this could be me trying to hear something which is actually gibberish, but I'm damn certain he says it. - It makes sense to what he is pointing at. What do you think?

When 3po is talking to them two turn and look at each other and say "that guy's wise"

When the atst blasts and kills the one ewok the other says "why die?".

Never even thought I heard a jawa do it though...

The gibberish (both Jawa and Ewok) might sometimes sound like an English word here or there, but they are not. The human ear naturally searches for patterns and sometimes finds things that aren't really there (or intentionally put there).

The only one I hear is when the red R2 blows up and Owen says 'hey what are you trying to sell me?' and the Jawa goes "what?" with the hand gestures.

When I was younger I always thought the Jawas said, "Houdini!" rather than "Utini!" I thought maybe they were big fans of the great magician or something...

I hear ya. But the ewok thing is clear as day. On top of it the sound of those 2 parts sound different and almost out of place from what they sound like the rest of the entire film.

I'll bet ya ten kajillion dollars that Ben Burtt did not record and/or edit the Ewokese to sound like "that guy's wise". He spends all this time digging up people who speak Swahili and obscure meso-american languages, only to have them speak English? No way.

I didn't catch any English at the point indicated but I did think I heard one of the Jawas say, "come here" to the droid with all the arms at around the 1:12 mark though.

That still makes me laugh every time. I got the Ewoks, but nothing on the other Jawas.
