Jawa fabric???

Hello!
I'm a newbie here, i live in Belgium.

I'm in the process of making a jawa costume, my boyfriend already built me the eyes, but it seems that the "monk cloth" is totally unknown in good ol' Europe...

Anyone has an equivalent that i could find here (and therefore that wouldn't cost me an arm and a leg in shipping?)

A white Egyptian Cotton Blanket can be dyed and then cut to the pattern, and it may give you the texture you need, or you can use burlap, but it will need a lining to make it comfortable to wear...

Won't burlap be looking too much like sandpeople's (Tusken) clothing fabric?
