Ok, well I am brand new to making cospaly costumes. I love halloween and dress up every year but I do prostectic make up and such

. But after being on here looking at all you guys and gals work. Talking and taking it all in I decided to build myself a robot !!! The Iron Patriot suit :$. I have never made anything like this before this is my first time making anything pep'd or foam or resin or anything else. So please be gentle :rolleyes. What sucks it that I didnt know about this contest or I would have taken more progress pics. I guess the good this is I have not finished the suit yet so I will take more pics and better progress pics with the stuff I have left to do. I will add the two failed helmets I did :facepalm to the pics I have in the drop box and post them. I am using foam for the build and I tried the bondo and resin .... I suck at that so I am going to attempt the Polyurethane resin Xrobots method on the suit when I am done so I will document the last of the parts I have to make. The helmet, finger, cannon, and have to redo the shins as they are too small. Then the coating the parts, painting and electronics. I will document them well with pics and what products I used and how I used them. For all to see. One thing for noobs like me is I decided to cut out the templates from the paper then glue them to the foam them cut them out that way I found I get exact copies of parts for fitting when gluing. I was having issues trying to trace then cut and stuff not being how I wanted thus the two failed helmets. I am also going to try to add a mixture of PVA glue and water to a spray bottle and spary on the mixture to coat the foam. I hope that this allows even coat with no brush marks!!! Thought of that all on my own!!! :thumbsup Any way I think I can pass for Don Cheadle ( my wife says I look better) I just hope the suit looks good too. SOOOOOO here we go !!!!
