But there is no need in panic. Though Hubble has sustained little injuries over its lifespan, none of them have affected the telescope’s ability to do science or take stunning images and send them back on Earth.
The same thing is about JWST. Its mirrors are protected from such kind of influence. It means that despite of meeting micrometeorites JWST will be able to focus and take pictures.
Moreover, unlike Hubble JWST has been sent far away from Earth's orbit, which means, that the probability of its meeting the satellite or orbital space debris is quiet low.

By the way, the alignment of 18 golden hexagons has started. The main goal of the setting up is to create a single focusing tool. It will take 3 months.

JWST has finally reached its destination - Lagrange point 2.
What are they going to do now? The 18 golden segments setting up will last until the end of April. Then JWST engineers are going to focus the telescope.

They aren’t.
Sentiment still stands. With the way things are, they can't arrive sooner.
Stunned it went so smoothly so far. Still many instruments must work properly in the months to come, so not sighing in relief just yet.
