Just came back from seeing in in IMAX. Very good film. Great opening sequence and some nifty Bond moves along the way. I noticed Chris Corboulds name in the opening titles for Special Effects and Miniatures. Once I saw this I was guessing what the miniatures would be. Then I saw the train go through the hole in the tunnel and figured it out :lol. Just like the end of Batman Begins with Ra's Al Ghul, which he did as well.
A few other scenes in the movie reminded me of other movies.
The setting up of the traps at Skyfall reminded me of Kevin McCallester in Home Alone.
The house also reminded me of Batman Begins when Bruce comes back to the house for the hearing, and everything is covered in white drapes and curtains.
Silva was very Joker like as previously mentioned, also taking on a police officer disguise to attempt to assassinate a public official.
Bond had a similar story to Bruce Wayne from TDKR, both being out of the game for a little while and both being drawn back to protect their cities when trouble strikes, while they both weren't the same physically.
Also, anyone notice the B.W. crate in the house? Bruce Wayne? :lol
And one last comparison, the music that played during the final battle at Skyfall had a very Zimmer Batman sound to it.
At least the explosive pen didn't have a ˜ç™£•®™¡£¶ LED light telling us whether or not it was armed. I mean, really? We as an audience had to have it spelled out for us with bright shiny red lights that the gun wouldn't work? Please tell me you have more faith in your audience than that.
The 3 LEDs weren't to show that the gun was armed. Q tells Bond how the PPKs is coded to his palm print and will only fire if he is holding it. We see Bond hold it and the 3 LEDs turn green. When the body guard gets it, they go red.
It's still not clear to me how Bond survived the sniper bullet and fall (and although we see his bullet wound from the assassin's semiauto hand gun I never saw where he was hit by Moneypenny) and how Silva escaped the X-Men/Avengers lucite prison of doom. :confused
Since Silva knew all the procedures that MI6 was going to take and was basically 1 step ahead, I'm guessing he had some computer program set up to unlock all the doors when Q hooked into the system. We see the doors in the floor open up and then Bond realizes that all the doors will open as he runs to the glass prison cell thing.
