no mechanism is in the watch 
power source is in the box, but it is interchangeable, so it is possible to ware it, not that I would though lol.

You guess correct, there is no watch mechanism, I don't have a clue what motor was used, and i don't intend taking it to bits ) but it must be quite a small motor and also quite powerful, as I'm sure the the face and bezel are quite heavy for a small motor.

Wow! Color me amazed! According to the Christies catalog, the original prop was powered very differently;
In Cain's design, the buzz saw is activated by compressed air blown through a tube on to specially constructed vanes causing the bezel to rise and rotate.
Looks altogether a bit more cumbersome...!
