Jack Sparrow Rings arrived!

Got startled awake this morning by the FedEx guy. MR ships fast. It's been less than a week since I ordered. So, anyways, after reading some rather scathing reviews for the MR rings (after placing my order) I was worried about what I would be getting but I've gotta say, I'm extremely happy with my purchase. True, they're a bit on the small side (I can't wear the Stolen or Button rings on any fingers except my smallest) but they're beautiful. I especially like the Dragon ring. I know it's horribly inaccurate but it looks great and I can actually wear it. It's a size 11!!! I may use a bit o buff & rub on it to give it a gold tone but for now I'm leaving it how it is.

Here's my display I threw together in ten minutes or less. Wanted a nice way to display them all together.

The skull ring is from Disney World.

Very nice!

You know for $6.99 you can't go wrong. I can't wait to get mine! Luckally I know jewlers that can size if they're too big!

What kind of box is that?

Yeah, they're well worth the price IMO. To big? you must have smaller hands than me :lol

The box is just some trinket box that I picked up from somewhere. Here's a pic of it closed.

It's roughly made/painted and I thought it suited the rings well. I just built a cardboard platform to put inside and covered it with brown velvet like fabric.

For the price they seem only OK but the size is the issue that everyone has been complaining about. Only one size DOES NOT fit all.

Also the quality is only OK. The Spanish Flower Ring is the only one that comes close to the movie prop. The Stolen Ring is far too small and the Jade Dragon Ring looks nothing like the movie version. Wrong shaped dragons, wrong color metal, etc. Only the jade comes close.

You figure with a name of "Master Replica" on the packaging which stands for being the best replica maker that even the inexpensive MR items would be close to the originals. Their expensive stuff are very accurate so why not the cheaper stuff?

Also the shipping charges were outrageous and the time it took from pre-orders in February and only to receive them in July? Hmmm!?

I'll stick to my ACME dragon ring and Disney versions. MR missed the market on these items.:thumbsdown

But I digress.................... :confused

Nice treasure chest! Here are my rings:

Wow, in all the years I've been a member of the RPF I've never had someone hijack one of my show off threads to trash my item. If you think they're trash, fine, start a thread saying so, but I like mine so please don't hijack my thread to berate them.

That being said, I know the rings aren't perfect but you know what. I like them. I'm allowed to. If I had the means to get to California I might pick up a more accurate version but for now, I'm happy with my rings. The dragon ring may be off but for $6.99 is a well made ring. With a little rub & Buff to make it gold I think it'll look a lot nicer. As for the stolen ring, it's a bit small, yes, but it's got a beautiful shine to it and it looks good in my display.

Some of us can't afford the higher end pieces and we're just happy to have something nice (and they are nice, if not 100% accurate) in our collections. I think anyone else that has ordered these recently will be happy with them.

Sorry! Didn't mean to hijack the thread mate. I was merely pointing out some of the truisms regarding the Master Replica rings.

If you want the Disney versions aka Skinny Dog Design rings you can order them through the El Capitan theater, Disneyland or Walt Disney World via the DelivarEARS telephone number. I don't have it right now but if you Google it you can find it.

Skinny Dog Design was the designer of the master ring mold but not the distributor. They passed that on to some other company and sold to Disney empire.

It's ok. I know they're not the greatest but I like 'em just fine and they're good for folks, like me, that are on a budget. They work as a nice place filler if nothing else :)

Are the Skinny Dog rings suppose to be available at Disney World as well? I didn't see them last time I went down to Orlando. Only saw the skull ring. Thanks for the info though

What size is the flower ring? It looks like the niceset of the MR set. I'd be curious to know if it fits my ring finger or not. I wear a size 14 on my index finger so I know the dragon ring and the stolen ring are no good for my needs. But, my ring finger is an 11 so if the flower ring is an 11, then it'd be perfect.
Nice set you got there though man, for the price I don't think it can be beat. :cool

Great rinds, I was thinking of ordering these myself since MR has a deal on them now, there extremly cheap!!!

That is so cool, I take it those are all Master Replicas? Or am I misinformed?

The Flower ring, the Stolen ring, and the Dragon ring are all Master Replicas. The Skull ring is from Disney World

I wear an 11 as well and it's a bit snug but I can fit it onto my 3rd finger. So it's close to an 11 but not quite

Ignore my hairy hand :lol
