Hello all! Just wanted to show a life-size Jack Sparrow figure I made. I did not sculpt the face, it is a lifecast that I added to a mannequin. Enjoy the pics!

well if no one wants to give comment ill give one.

looks pretty good. overall a nice piece with not one part under/over done imho.

i enjoy checking out your threads, it looks like you have a lot of fun building the pieces.

:thumbsup

Wow, awesome work! Nice to see a PotC1 version of the costume, I always liked that one best. :D

The face seems a bit lacking definition...but everything else looks great! Looks awful clean, though... :)

DAMN! I think it looks super nice. I like the "clean" look and even though the sculpt is not 100% on, I think it's a great representation of Jack. Well done!

For a lifecast rework, I think that's really nice. It's tough to get those looking "right" and while, there's never a ton of "energy" in a lifecast, you've turned that one around nicely.

As I've already said privately, I think your facial coloring and hairwork is really effective! (love the themed base too!)

The face looks bad, but the rest looks great

Comments like that make me wonder why anyone would even bother posting their work on this forum. Maybe it's not a perfect likeness of Johnny Depp, but saying it looks "bad" is just plain rude.

Thanks for the comments guys! I am glad that there are forums like this around so that I can share pics of my work :)

you are wrong. he stated the face was not his work, or from anyone here. it's a face cast, thus no sculptor involved, or anyone to get offended by my comments.
so i don't feel bad or rude at all saying it looks bad. it does. as i stated, the rest of the statue looks great.

I think it looks fantastic. A sculpt would help it not look so 'static', but you did an outstanding job of making a great overall likeness given what you had to work with.

I'm always amazed when I click on your Threads !!

Great work! If I may make one small critique, his face doesn't look dirty enough.
In the movies, he seemed to have a oily/dirty look to him, like he hadn't taken a bath in months.

But trying to do that might be difficult on a static figure, and might end up making the whole thing look bad. Dirtying him up won't make or break him.

You can't tell that much in the pics but his costume is really filthy! LOL As for dirt on his face I tried doing that but it just ended up looking like a bad paint job! lol
