At my last appearance as Jack (See here: http://www.therpf.com/f12/its-talk-like-pirate-day-195532/#post3054186) most of the kids thought I was the "real" Jack Sparrow... and the teachers were not helping... they kept hinting at things like "We've got to hurry as he's got a flight to catch", etc... so, to mess with kids from now on, I made the following replica and thought it'd be fun to "drop" on the ground now and again to see who notices:

I made him a little taller (since I'm 6' 0") and changed his address to Dodger Stadium (a veiled Blues Brothers reference).

It was only one kid I told - and I told him to keep it to himself - so you can't blame me if the news went round like wildfire! :lol

We were asked by the YMCA to bring a few costumed characters to their "family day"...

Never had so many photos taken with babies. Even had to run an obstacle course:

One kid got smart to me and said, "You're not the real Jack Sparrow!" To which I replied, "Yes, I am." "You're not Johnny Depp!" So, I reached into my pocket and flashed my ID:

I left him with his jaw hanging open as I ran off in the other direction.

This was the first time I was able to trial my gold teeth. I bought some dollar-store gold press-on-nails, trimmed them with a dremel, then held them in place with some denture cream. They worked fairly well; I had to reattach one after a couple of hours, and I didn't eat anything that required biting. Not sure if it's worth the effort, but several people commented on the gold teeth, so they're definitely noticeable.

looking great as usual. Love the fake I.D. I've been adding some extra pieces to my capt. jack for megacon coming up, that would be pretty cool to show people.

So I was wondering if those are the same CAboots that you originally bought? If so are they still pretty comfortable, and how are they holding up after a few uses, or as we say in my Star Wars group "after a frew Troops"?

Yes, they're the same boots in all the photos in this thread (the deluxe Caboots model). They are performing perfectly and are as good as the day I got them. I treated them with Pecards leather dressing (which helped darken and distress them) and was amazed at well they resisted the water after the amount of time they spend in the ocean:

So, yes, I'm still recommending these to anyone who's looking for accurate boots!

Damn man, thats hard core and amazing... Got an order in for the sword, I'm afraid if I go all Jack Sparrow with an outfit (Or one of your other amazing replica outfits from the film world), I may find myself single and penniless and may need to resort to Piracy...lol
