New York Yankees legend Yogi Berra has passed at age 90. If you're not a baseball fan and mostly know him from the "Yogi-isms" ("deja vu all over again" "when you come to a fork in the road, take it"), Yogi was one of the great, great players. A tremendous catcher and hitter and a fine manager. He was one of those guys that everybody loved.

Yogi enlisted in the navy in 1943 and was among those pounding the hell out of German defenses at Normandy so troops could land on D-Day.

A solid guy and an absolute original. Adios, Yogi.

Aw, man, I didn't even know he was still alive.
Such a character. RIP, Yogi.

My favorite quote by him I can't find on the internet anywhere, but I had it in a book when I was a kid.
I'm probably misquoting it terribly, but it was something along the lines of:
"You gotta jump those hurdles to score a touchdown, to make a hole-in-one, ya know? 'Cause this is baseball, and that's how this game is played".

"Always go to other people's funerals. Otherwise they won't come to yours." - Yogi Berra

RIP Yogi was always fun to watch during interviews and was one of those personalities that only comes around once in a great while.

Rock solid headline editors at this pillar of journalism. I guess it was bound to happen.
