Re: Wearable Ironman Ver.1 Arc Reactor (Hand Crafted/Found Item Build)
THE PROTOTYPE
Its been raining non-stop here in our place for the past 3 weeks so progress on casting my helmet was really slow.
But I did not waste any time, so I work on my Wearable Ironman Ver.1 Arc Reactor (the very first RT unit in the movie)
I was able to find/gather parts when I was searching for the parts for my Ver. 3 Arc Reactor.
The found items I used in this build are as follows:
1) Sugar container
2) Different sizes of PVC pipes
3) PVC pocket calendar
4) GI wire
5) Beads (from arts and crafts store)
6) Aerator (from plastic faucet)
7) Brass shim
8) Electrical tape
9) Plastic tray
Yes it's NOT SUPER ACCURATE but the accuracy was very much dependent on the shape, size, and color of the found items.
But even given such limitations on found items, I still tried my best to achieve the highest accuracy possible

:thumbsup...
So here goes... SORRY PIC-HEAVY:confused
Here is the finished mechanical assembly without the electronics...
I was not able to find a more red-ish magnet wire but its ok... maybe next time...
Also, brass wire was not available in our local hardware store so I just used the same magnet wire...
Below photo shows what was given attention to achieve as much accuracy as I can...
With the electronics installed and lit...:thumbsup
Powered by 2 x CR2032 (3V) cell battery (total = 6V)...
Also can be Powered by 4 x AAA (1.5V) external battery pack (total = 6V)
Now installed to its casing...
Back cover is GI sheet and magnet can be attached...
Outside diameter (casing) = about 3.5"
Overall Thickness = about 3/4"
The Arc Reactor can be attached and detached to its casing ba twisting action...
Switch at the back of the reactor should be turned on before installing it to the casing...
Room light's OFF...
Lamp shade's ON...
I attached flat magnets on my chest using bandage tape... then attached the Arc Reactor on top of my shirt...
Then I attached the arc reactor under my shirt...
Just to show how the magnets held it well in place...

:thumbsup
I was not able to take WIP photos but I will reserve the 2nd post for it when I make a 2nd unit...
Thanks for watching and for your time.
cheers everyone!
