Re: Ironman mkvi pep helm (aiming 99% movie accuracy) - FACEPLATE HINGE INSTALLED!!!

pRoJectEarth7, I was also wondering, which of the resin products did you use in the link you provided? Checked all of them out thoroughly, but still not sure which to buy and how much they cost o_0.

It's auto/car body filler (famous brand: bondo or polytuff)... :):thumbsup

as others have said, this is pretty safe to say 99.9% movie accuracy (y)thumbsup

the pic you used of the movie alongside the helmet and hinge-work is very impressive. that attention to detail and the effort taken to make this as close to the movie is awesome. great work!

Hi, your build is amazing!
I was just hoping for some advice, I'm building from the same pep file, how did you do the eyes? Did you leave out pieces? Because I can't seem to figure it out.

Thanks for appreciating my helmet... Yes, I skipped the eye details... :):thumbsup

You need to contact them directly... They have email address and phone number on the link.... They may even have a branch near your place... Also, I highly recommend that you enroll on their short courses that they offer... these chemicals are dangerous stuff and need proper training...:):thumbsup

Re: Ironman mkvi pep helm (aiming 99% movie accuracy) - FACEPLATE HINGE INSTALLED!!!

I am diggin' the see-through eyes. Is there just a single led in each lense? I can't tell of the far side has a LED or if it is a reflection. I can't tell how any wire would make it over there...besides magic, which at this point I wouldn't count it out.

Re: Ironman mkvi pep helm (aiming 99% movie accuracy) - FACEPLATE HINGE INSTALLED!!!

WOW....WOW....WOW, simply epic attention to detail has left me almost speechless:eek

The quality and craftmanship applied to this project is nothing short of amazing

Now i just need to convince the wife i really need one for christmas:lol

Re: Ironman mkvi pep helm (aiming 99% movie accuracy) - FACEPLATE HINGE INSTALLED!!!

How did you fit all the gears and mechanical components that make up the hinge systems, let alone the motorized parts? Isn't the helmet a bit tight?

That is how I designed it... a snug-fit helmet that is fully motorized which has ventilation system as well. No dangling wires/ No hand-held switch/ No radio control.

Sure everyone can motorized their helmet by using servos but the problem usually encountered by most is how to fit everything inside the helm while still maintaining a good helmet/head ratio... Their solution is to make oversize helm... THAT IS NOT AN OPTION FOR ME.

Re: Ironman mkvi pep helm (aiming 99% movie accuracy) - FACEPLATE HINGE INSTALLED!!!

Such awesome work with everything you do man. This thread inspired me to start a new Helmet. Won't be good as this 99% accuracy one but it will be better than my old one for sure.
