Here's some shots that my wife took from taking my daughter trick or treating. The last shot is severely out of focus, but it shows that I got mobbed almost everywhere we went. Three months of working on the suit and now my wife can stop picking up pieces of foam and hot glue "webs" from all over the house!

Yet another awesome Iron Man suit that makes me drool a little bit, dont worry though my wife has set up a small bucket now. I've got to figure out how to start my project. I've got so many questions about where to start, where to go buy material, and how to get the plastic shine finish i want.

RPF is definitely the place to start!

oh definatly, i've been surfing posts for hours. Lots of info and tons of great costume ideas. Is there anyway to use the camping mats and still have a smooth plastic like finish? like bondoing the mats or fiberglass?

I've never tried adding a bonding agent to the mats, but I would guess that it would limit the foam's flexibility.

one way is to build the part the brush on a layer of polyurathane plastic.
then sand smooth n paint, did this to my neck seal to give it the right look

My pleasure. It was great to see everyone's success with the foam. I still have a few rolls left and am contemplating what my next project should be....

Awesome project, congrats!!!

About your next project, maybe you should take a look at your own avatar? ;)
