Iron Man Movie Replicas?

I'd like to see Master Replicas do an Iron Man "Movie" Helmet and have the LED lighted eyes on it…just like the movie costume.

Any cool tie-ins to the forthcoming Iron Man movie that anyone is aware of?

sideshow put out a statue of that pose, which is also from a comic cover, not sure if there are any still available or not

We will be doing a complete armor 1:1 size. The helmet is in progress. Its bigger than people think.

Hi all,

Yes, Sideshow made an Iron Man lighted Comiquette in the same pose than this pic....I also read that there were only two known in existence, one was given to Robert Downey Jr on the first day of filming. The second one ???? The price is about 20 000 euros !!!
Sideshow made another Iron Man Comiquette but it's the Stealth version, also lighted. Cheaper :)

i never even thought of the t-shirt, but that would be soooooooooooo awesome to have that, if it lit up, i wouldnt have a clue as to how to go about making one, but im sure someone here does........ so whoever you are....... get to it! i want one!

Is it just me or is there absolutely no interest in comic related props UNLESS a movie is made about a particular character and then people ONLY want the movie-style props?

I mean honestly, even though there are a few neat re-designs of a character's costume or equipment when a movie is done, there are plenty of better original designs of those same items within the actual comics. For example (while we're on the subject of Iron Man), the move suit is good... don't get me wrong, but the new comic version done by Adi Granov is freakin' outstanding:

Heck, even the prior armors are pretty dang cool and if it wasn't for artists like Bob Layton, where would Iron Man be today?

Yes, I understand that most things for movies (like costumes, armor, etc.) needs the re-design to accommodate the actors wearing them, but most of those designs go way overboard only to end up looking stupid... just take a look at all of the Batman movie suits after 1989.

So I guess what I'm saying is, why are fellow prop collectors and makers suddenly excited about a comic character (who's been around for ages) when it's finally brought to film? Does it require the 'magic' of film to automatically make a character cool or inspire a prop artist to replicate something?

Someone please help me out here, I just don't get it. :wacko

Seems to me that once somethings makes it to the screen, it becomes real, tangible - and the props actually exist.

That's what gets people fired up.

Well, for one, props are mainly movie based, and thus it often takes a movie to get props! Something like this, I've alway been an Iron Man fan and I prefer the Silver Centurion style armour, but I don't have the knowledge, talent or skills to create a full size suit. But I do have enough talent to trim and paint such a thing. So I have to wait until someone comes along to create, and that normally doesn't happen until it shows up on the silver screen. And with the movie, they normally have to make adjustments for reality, which the comics don't always account for (micro aligning electric tiles?) So the movie version, at least, is possible.

The one Iron man suit, pre movie, which I believe, you, AlterEgos, have been working one, was just not my fav, nor did I have the money available to get one.

That being said. In the next year or so, I hope to make a comic based Wolverine, in the only colours that count, brown and tan!!

So, are you saying that this doesn't exist?

Surely you have a better argument than that. ;)

I meant that when people see it "real" and onscreen. Illustrated stuff is wildly open to interpretation, but once a design is hatched people gravitate towards it.

I gotta have the blue LED's in the helmet…that's freakin' AWESOME! Will you offer that, or can we get someone with electronics to do an upgrade kit?

Thanks.
