Iron Man mkIII 3D Print Files - FREE

kenlandrum .. nice work uploading all these parts for everyone, that's very nice of you!

For all those people that will print at Shapeways, save yourself the trouble and don't use White Strong and Flexible on the small parts!!! It'll be hell to fix afterward when you'll receive them!!! Use Frosted or Frosted Ultra Details on those small parts. Don't even try to mold the WS&F either, I've been there, tried it and it was pure crap and a waste of material and time. Material is too porous and you can't really do anything with it.

Bigger parts can be done in WSF though, you'll just have to hit them with filler primer .. A LOT .. then move on to harden them.

Just thought I'd share this here before people go and try to print these and waste their money on the not right material!

Keep at it kenlandrum.

Thanks!
Hope to crank more out as soon as things let up a bit here at work.
Stand by.

Hello, this is a really nice thread!! you really help the comunity, does anybody have the left hand .stl file ready to 3d print? I'm doing a mess trying to cut the file :S, cheers.

These look incredible, but Shapeways is telling me this model is 5.25 inches wide. Why is it so big? Is there a way to make it smaller?

Its this one. Either I messed up reading the dimensions, the scaling is off, or Robert Downer Jr. has large hands

Palm-dimensions.jpg These measurements are taken from the movie model. RDJ is a small guy, so I assume the 74" tall movie model is bigger for sure. All in all I think the shapeways model scale is on.

I'm thinking of buying a printer 3d Prusa Iteration 3 20x20x20, to print the forearm as you would? One piece that can not be on this printer, it would be possible that you divided the large pieces in two or three parts, as did Andy with the glove.

and I would love to go see more parts of the armor, so when you think you'll have anything else?

I feel this bad English but I am Spanish and use the google translate

There is a heck of a lot of amazing work going on within this thread, I am amazed it hasn't got a lot more attention.

Are you guys planning on doing the whole suit or just the parts?.
I'd love to see the suit whole broken down into home printable part and could live with a bit of modding to re-assemble larger parts.

Keep up the great work!!

Help needed!! Modeling using reference images and editable poly in 3DS max
reference images align in 3Ds ... ie top of eye on the left view is in the same plane as the top of the eye from the front view ...
Problem: when editing the 3D polys ... once the left view matches curvature of the curve, the front side does not match the curve ... why is that? I have used different reference images with same results
