Let me say again that these models were not created to be used on shapeways. The are models built from extremely accurate movie ref and are sized to the movie model. They can be downloaded for free, edited in anyway you like and used for printing, molding, or just rendering.I download the shoulder and chest piece to shapeways but the slots didnt show. What is the problem
This has been fixed. I am kind of a Shapeways noob, so just let me know when you can't get to something and I will look into it.It wouldnt let me download the hand. I am not sure about the rest.
Just sent your newest unibeam files to be printed at my school's printer. It's a uPrint SE Plus; I've never used it before but I'll let you guys know how it comes out. Should be ready Saturday.
Thank you so much for getting these files together, it's great to be able to work on something like this without paying an arm and a leg.
That's weird. This part has been printed successfully by a few folks already and the detail was amazing. Wonder if maybe it does not like the .stl or .obj files... Have you asked anyone what it prefers?... or what it could be?Well I'm afraid I do not have very good results to report. The printer must have decided that a lot of the details were "support material" because they washed right off in the dissolving solution after the print. The hex piece did not turn out as well, most of the holes are filled or partially filled. Here is the result:

thanks for the shapeway posts..do you know what hand size they will fit?
also any chance of getting the Helmet Fasteners on shapeway?
Fixed. Thanks for letting me know.kenlandrum Reviewing the last files they are unable to download (the forearm parts)
I have no idea what size the hand is. The model matches whatever they built for the film.
BTW: all helmet fasteners are now on Shapeways... same with the mouth details!

you are a rock god!
thank you..I guess I will see how they fit..
any one try printing the hands or fingers yet?
what units of measurement do you use for the shapeway files? inches, cm?
I can give you dimensions in cm. What measurements do you need?... Be specific please.
oh I was referencing to shapeways they ask for a unit of measurement when uploading a file..it looks like you upload them in inches since I got the same size as your uploaded file.
I was looking at the mouth piece and it looks like the detail lines go through the object which means they will not be a solid part with line groove detail..
I was looking at the model in the 3d animation on the shapeway sight. When you move it about in the blue area you can see through the lines.

i got the same issues when i tried to upload my models !Shapeways is weird. I am building everything in cm, but when I upload to SW in cm it's tiny. I tried to upload in inches and it works out perfect....
as for the mouth, the pieces should not be open. Shapeways shows things weird sometimes even if the model is ok. Either way I just finished hollowing out the solid parts on the sides and built little supports to hold them all together... (got the price down to $13.49! almost half)
