Iron Man mkIII 3D Print Files - FREE

HI buddy, thanks for share your iron man hands files , i want to 3d print both hands , but i would like to scale the files to my hands size , how can i do it ?

i am going to print the files on shapeways and i dont want to scale it wrong .

Thanks :D

I would find a hand model, scale it to match your hand then scale the armor to that.

Hi Guys,
Sorry if this question has been asked but what 3D printer are these being modelled for? If I was to get a MakerBot would it print the parts that are being created?

Sorry new to all the 3D jazz and I am just doing my research at the moment.

Kindest regards,
Maximus

You would be able to print out many parts on a MakerBot without too many problems but some would prove difficult and/or need a bunch of clean up. You would probably want to putty and sand them as well to get rid of the print lines. Kenlandrum's been doing an incredible job on these but some of the parts will also need additional work to be made printable on any printer, it's just a difference between modeling for digital versus for printing.

Thanks for that Megafern, I have been looking at getting a printer for a while now so I am trying to see all the up's and down's at the moment.

Yup! Several of the parts are. I created a Shapeways account to upload and check many of these these models for printability. For instance, on the Arc Reactor I split it up and even thinned some of the parts in the back to keep cost down.

To sum it up, all of the models here can be printed. Some of them still require a person with minimal 3d knowledge to open them up, separate the pieces they wish to have separate and convert them (if needed) to a format that will work for their printer. An ideal situation would allow me the time to do all of this... it's just that I barely have the time to model all of these parts, let alone prepare and manage all the different formats.

Anyway, I have had a real bust spell and hope to get back to modeling more of these soon. I left off on the helmet. Hope to get to some of the details in the calf and back flaps. Also hope to do a nice pair of non-symmetrical boots as well.

cheers!

**In sticking with the movie scale the Jet has been sized to 2.25" diameter (to fit the pep boot it should measure about 2")

this arc reactor and boor jet does not match to the picture, am i doing somthing wrong?

Not sure what you are doing, but I am using 3dsmax. I have noticed some folks having problems using other 3d software to open these... sorry.
