Iron Man Mark IV Foam COMPLETED! STAN LEE SIGNED =D - WARNING PICTURE INTENSIVE!

I can't believe you got your suit signed by Stan Lee, those pictures are fantastic mate i'm so jealous!!!!

I would have that photo of him signing your suit framed and put right next to my suit.

Fantastic

I'm thinking about buying some of the gloves from Zabana and I wanted to know how hard was it to paint them? Was it difficult getting that material to match the rest of the suit?

How do you get the cutting machine to cut your pep? do you have to print the pep on a regular printer and then scan it into the Silhouette's software? Just curious

Would you say a helmet, boots, shins and hands would be an easy build for a beginner? I have a pretty neat idea, and I don't want to build a full suit just yet. I havent built a suit of any scale or design x3
but how much foam do you think I would need? And the scale for a person about 5'4" for the pepakura files?

But great work by the way! I love it :)

Not OP, but no :( I think the helmet, boots, and hands are the hardest parts. I'm a beginner too. The only easy part were the shoulder bells. Everything else so far has been a pain.

Here is a video of my suit on Stan Lee's Fan War's episode of Bruce Wayne vs Tony Stark!

IT'S BEEN ONE YEAR, NOW IT'S TIME TO RETIRE THIS SUIT.. and work on the new one =D

Re: My first costume build - Iron Man Mark IV Foam - WARNING PICTURE INTENSIVE!

thanks you guys.. i had a lot of fun making this suit and taking it around.. so here is the updates..

Had to change out the resistors on the faulty arc reactor before I installed it into the suit... had bad issues with the seller for sending me 2 faulty units

Seriously there is a lot more paint i used... i need to count them all so i can give a idea of how much i used

This is how i paid for my labor each day haha

Using the Hot Toys model as a reference that ironically i just bought after finishing the suit lol, i also realized DON'T PAINT THE GOLD ON THE THIGH PIECE FIRST.. PAINT IT RED then add the gold.. the color changes since it becomes a gold base underneath =\

taping off the sides to paint the gold biceps

Finished up the boots

Dremeled out a trashcan for the ab pieces and riveted them to 2" elastic bands, so now i can sit and crunch comfortably

Made pockets for my wallet and cell phone.. and yes that is my 7" cell phone haha

How many cans of everything did you use?

Great idea on the pockets, was wondering how I might add them myself- your way looks thought out as gravity will keep everything stationary. Bravo.

thx guys, hmm i have to check i made sure to keep all the cans and reciepts to figure out the total cost and what i used, just haven't had enough time to do so. But expect to spend to close to 200 on paint supplies at most

Great looking suit man !!! Stan Lee's signature is like icing on a cake.. I'm starting a foam build myself and I am using Stealth's files.. How tall are you? If we are about the same height, then Stealth's scale will work fine for me too..I don't mind it being a little big, cuz I am kind of stocky in built. Also, great idea on using multiple thickness for different parts. Hope to have pictures up of my foam build as well.. Right now, all I have done is the chest.

how do you use the electronic cutting tool? my wife has a cric-cut (i think its called) for her school work.... would this work ?
