Still moving ahead with building the costume. At some point soon I will take some picks of the suit on or at least partially on, but I am concentrating on getting the backpack more solidified before I do that.

I did make some great progress though on that front. I attached some of the components and started to weather things. Still lots to do but I am pleased.

Got all the main components done for my backpack. Still need to add hoses, wires and other details. I also need to figure out how I want to attach it to the rest of the suit. I may attach it to the waist piece and make a shoulder harness to hold it all up.

I also need to figure out how I want to attach my arc reactor and housing. I may hang that off the harness as well. If anyone has any suggestions, I am all ears.

Small update to the backpack. I was able to add some wire details as well as make two hoses to add to one of the sides. I think I will try and figure out a harness for the belt/codpiece, arc reactor and backpack.

The only other majors parts to finish are the back of my helmet, torso piece, flame throwers, and left thigh. Then it’s a matter of fitting everything up, making any adjustments, clear coating everything and adding the last of the hose and wiring details. I would like to be done in Oct but we will see.

I finally mounted my backpack onto my harness. I still need to finish painting my left thigh, fit my torso up, finish the back of my helmet, finish my 3D printed flame throwers, fit everything up, make adjustments as needed and add the rest of the detail wires and hose and such. It’s a lot still to do, and I don’t know if I will make it in time for Halloween, but I have made a lot of progress and I’m pleased with the outcome so far.

I am working on fitting up the torso and decided the go ahead and install the arc reactor before sealing and painting. There is enough room to mask over it, so I am not too worried about messing it up. I still have to seal coat it before I add the lens to the arc housing but I think I will wait until I paint the torso and seal up everything at one time.

Got one of my flamethrowers pretty much done. Might do some minor paint work on it but it’s pretty much ready to be installed. Need to sand and paint the other one and then I think I will try and do a fit up of everything.

I got one of my flamethrowers installed. I still need to finish touching up the paint around the mounting points and then it just needs some clear coat. I ran out of primer so I need to get some more so I can paint and install the right flamethrower. Also got primer on the back of my helmet so I should be able to finish the painting on that as well.

I was able to paint and install the other flamethrower onto my right forearm. Now I need to clear coat everything and do some fit up. Also got the back of my helmet primed and got a coat of black on it. I’ll try and get that done this week.

Still need to fit up my chest and back piece and paint and weather that and then I am pretty much done besides adding the hoses, wires and such.

I was able to paint the back of my helmet. I need to let it dry over night and then I will clear coat it. I would still like to line it in leather but I have not had a chance to get to the local Tandy Leather shop. Going to do a fit up soon when I can find the time for my wife to help me.

I promise to take pics.

Small update. I started adding hoses to the suit. Still need to do a test fit and figure out how to route everything, but I am still plugging away at it. Albeit very slowly, though that’s what happens when you have a family.
