Iron Man Mark I Suit

Minor update. Did some initial sanding on the front part of my helmet. Still need to smooth things out and figure out how I want to line the inside. Any suggestions?

I also used a soldering iron to rough up my “weld lines.” Will need to sand them a bit in order to soften them up.

Thanks a lot! This is my first big project so we’ll see how it goes. Not quite sure how I am going to paint everything, but I think I am going to seal it with plastidip and go from there.

Sounds good. I know plastidip can be expensive and some people have had success with several coats of PVA, might be worth a try

Got some work done on my belt drives. Going to focus on the right leg and then on to the left leg but figured I would make both at the same time so they look alike.

Will need to figure out how to stiffen things up a bit. It’s a little floppy but, hopefully, i will be able to shore things up as I work on the legs and figure out how to attach everything while still allowing me to bend my legs at least a little bit.

Printed out the arc reactor housing for the suit. Also was able to print some parts to one of the flame throwers, but I am waiting until I have all the parts printed to take some pics. Also got my arc reactor modeled up and ready for printing. Will post pics when I get that done as well.

Got the main pieces of my flame thrower printed out. I dry fit them together and placed them on the underside of my RH forearm. I think this will work, so I need to print another set for the LH forearm.

I was also able to print the arc reactor I modeled up. I know the proportions are maybe not right on, but so far I am pleased.

Lots of sanding, finishing, and painting to do but I am excited. A friend is going to help me with the lighting for the arc reactor.

I was able to get the main portion of my upper RH leg done. Still need to add some details and shore up some stuff, but I am pleased with the result.

Modeled up and printed and glued the two tanks that will fit behind my right calf. Really need to start working on sanding/finishing all the printed pieces, but I am going to try and finish my right leg first

Haven’t had as much time, recently, to do a lot of foam work. Hoping to get some done this weekend.

I have also decided to redo the belts for the RH and LH drives for my legs. Wasn’t satisfied with the current ones so I started over with some new foam I got from TNT Cosplay Supply. Still needs work and finishing, but it’s much better.

Modeled up and printed a couple more pieces. These will be mounted to the belt section of my suit. I’ll be able to run some leather straps through them and up over my shoulders like suspenders to keep that portion in place.

Minor update. I was able to work on my suit a little bit yesterday and got the main portion of my butt plate done and started on the right kneecap. Slowly, but surely, I will get there.

Got some good work done on my knee, shin and calf. I also placed my upper leg and knee portion together to get a rough idea of what it will look like when I attach them together.
