I am looking for a decent Ironman mark 42 helmet file for 3d printing, I know I can convert pepakura files to 3d print but I need the files to be smooth and thick for printing. Anyone know where I can find one for Ironman Mark 42 and Warmachine? The only one I have found was on Thingiverse but the model is messed up and will not print.

This file will not print :/

I actually ran into the same problem with the mk42 and after fiddling around with Blender last weekend, I found it very easy to take pep files and convert them into printable stl's. I've got a playlist on youtube if your interested, it will take some time to do, but this way the model can be yours and you can tweak it to your liking. I did manage to convert Helagak's mk42 helmet and it looks really good. Only problem is that I need to scale it up just a little bit and I pm'd Helagak about releasing his file for 3d printing but haven't heard back. Once I do, I'll release the file to the everyone.

That youtube playlist I made is https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLcM8tSh8qpDlLT9OAU-NBK4J0NOeku8iA

the file is not prepped for 3D print or it's not a fully enclosed file. Normal 3D files just have a thin surface for rendering purposes, adding thickness to them gives something for the printer to work with.

I'll take a look at it tonight, should be an easy fix
